Oh, there are some tried-and-true ways that they will let you know.
1. Lots of eye contact, although that can be scary. If they stare, then look away bashfully, that's good.
2. They will go out of their way to bump into you.
3. For (usually) younger people, they will pick a fight with you or just playfully punch you, because they don't know how to tell you they are interested without getting rejected.
4. They will remember and repeat your name.
5. They will offer a gift, but play it off as, "Oh. I had an extra one already."
6. They smile when they see you and hold it, making eye and physical contact. Fake people do this, too, but if you are no-nonsense, you'll see through this facade soon enough. This is how to avoid being used, either socially or physically.
7. Speaking of facades, someone who likes you may be awfully shy. Great romances never happened because it was only years later the two people admitted a great fondness for each other.
So, to the other readers, if you like someone, tell 'em! Don't be afraid.

The eyes, my friend. The eyes don't lie. If you're a man and you catch nothing but a glance from a woman, it's nothing. But...if she glances at you again and let you see her glance at you, it's something. She probably won't do it again and if you were too stupid to catch that hint the first time, she probably will lose interest in the next 90 seconds. If you're a woman, it will be undeniable. He is not going to glance. He is going to stare at you like he's starving and you're a steak. I'm not talking about the pervert, who's lusting eyes penetrate through your clothes and into your very soul. I'm talking about the guy who stares just long enough for you to see clearly that, "Yes, I am noticing you and you are fine." then he looks away because he doesn't want you to confuse him with the other guy I just spoke of. His stare might accompany a walk closer to where you're at or a conversation with a buddy that results in his buddy looking at you. If this happens, that man's got it for you. See, it's not that hard. Of course you're benefitting from the experience of a retired old school player.

I wouldn't know. No man in the world, including Tobey Maguire, will ever like me, more or less love me; inside and outside.
Besides, I'm not allowed to have any man, including Tobey Maguire, love me.
