Universal donor is blood type O (anyone can get it safely)
Universal acceptor is blood type AB (can get any blood type safely).
Blood type B is the second rarest (AB is the rarest) and I suppose you could argue it's the "worst" since it's the hardest to find a suitable blood type match.

I have been told by Blood Assurance that persons such as myself with AB+ blood have hit the Lottery because we can receive any type of blood, and although it is true our blood type can only be received by another AB+, our Plasma and Platelets are universal and can be received by any type, whether for surgeries or cancer patients. You have a very special gift so if you wish to donate to help others, plasma and platelets are in very high demand and they will love to see you. The process of Apheresis is much like donating blood except that they separate the plasma and platelets through a machine and return the blood back into you, (all through one needle). The process does take about 70 minutes as apposed to about 20 minutes for a blood donation but it is for a good cause and the place I go has computers at the chairs for internet access to pass the time.

I'm one of the lucky AB+'s . (AB- is actually the rarest blood type.) While I do feel lucky that if I need a transfusion, any blood type will do, it's also a little sad that if I give blood myself it will help relatively few people. My friend has type O- blood and she's always getting calls from the blood bank asking her to come and donate; same with another friend who has B-.
In some Asian countries (Japan especially) there is a very different attitude about what's "best", since they believe that one's blood type indicates one's personality and character. A's are loyal and hardworking, O's are imaginative and individualistic...and AB's are moody and wishy-washy, I guess because we are supposed to have two opposing forces in our blood. <:-0

Depends on your purpose.
O negative - Your blood can be given to everyone.
AB positive - You can receive blood from anyone.
But understand this is just a general explanation of blood typing. Blood typing has many subgroups

Nothing best about any of them. Blood is blood. Some are easier to get transfusions of. Some aren't, but that's about it.
BTW, I have a rare blood type and it kind of sucks because it's a question that if I ever get into an accident and have to have a transfusion as to whether or not I'll get one, which could be a matter of life or death someday. Common blood types are cooler in that you don't have that worry. To top it all off, I'm not able to donate blood because my veins tend to blow up, so I can't even stockpile blood for my own future use. If you have a common blood type, you're lucky, so be thankful of that.

If you want to donate to other so that you will be another kind man on earth then its good to have O type negative.
If you are afraid of Dying from even a single fall then make it AB positive.
There's no specific answer to this. Depends on your thinking
