Muslim women wear hijab—which is more than just a head cover—because God ordered them to do so in two places in the Qur’an, and because Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also ordered it. The Qur’an says in Surah 24, verses 30 - 31 what means:
*{Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigor, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed.}*

These verses tell us that our Islamic dress is not just a matter of covering the head alone, but also of covering the bosom, which is attractive to men, and of lowering the gaze and walking in a way that does not attract attention. Note that the order to lower the gaze was addressed first to men…

You can also read the other verse about the same point, which is verse number 59 in Surah 33. It may be translated:
*{O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them [when they go abroad]. That will be better, that so they may be recognized and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.}*

This indicates that one of the reasons for hijab is to distinguish the believing woman from the non-believing. This relates to your second question concerning the logic behind hijab.

It is true that men don’t have to cover their heads, but there is a dress code for them, as well, although it is not so widely publicized as the women’s dress code. Men must at least be covered from the navel to the knees with loose fitting clothing. The rules for men are different because women are less likely to ogle men than the other way around.

Dear sister not Only Islam asked women to cover up , even in old and new testament the order to cover up is clear
any way you can read this part of topic to get more info about Hijab in Islam
http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/w_islam/veil.htm
and also Islam don`t ask man to put Hijab CZ his nature is not like women , what ever putting Koffeya for man(head cover for man) is from Sunnah of Prophet

with best regards

You are hitting two chords in a single stroke.

Let me elaborate it to you.
1. Yes, the Quran says to dress modestly, that applies to both men & women.
2. Hijab is the way for women to dress, that is to cover her hair, wear loose fitting clothes, only the face & palm should/can be left uncovered.
3.What does cover up mean for men? simple.... dress modestly, wear loose fitting clothes.

The Quran talked about Hijab but the extent was specified in the hadith ( the saying of the prophet pbuh).

"Ayesha (R) reported that Asmaa the daughter of Abu Bakr (R) came to the Messenger of Allah (S) while wearing thin clothing. He approached her and said: 'O Asmaa! When a girl reaches the menstrual age, it is not proper that anything should remain exposed except this and this. He pointed to the face and hands." (Abu Dawood)

Men should be dressed modest;y as well but naturally a mans body is not as attractive as a woman. For example if I show my naked chest in public then you would see most people puke up! If a woman did that it would cause her undue harm and unwarranted interest. If you know what I mean!!

Men should lower their eyes but a woman is better at keeping this responsibility than a man. That's why its been given to a woman, they can bear the responsibility.

I have no idea a unmarried Hafiz who does no longer understand the which means of the Arabic within the Quran. Can you identify one or are you aware of any in my opinion? It is certainly extra major to attain complete advantage of the Quran and to not learn it or simply memorize verses. In the case of a Hafiz/Hafiza, he/she recalls the verses within the order as they look within the Quran through finding out the fundamental meanings which help in memorization of them. Hafiz are mainly blessed through Allah an your reference to your final assertion may be very irrelevant to mention the least.

Yes, it does. It explicitly states that women must wear hijab.

The reason is that long time ago, women are considered only as object of sex, slavery, etc. The point is that they were considered low as their beauty creates the negative image. That's why, to preserve the dignity that women have, it is suggested that they wear hijab to cover up their head. So, the real purpose was actually to protect them, even though it was uncomfortable to some ppl. So, why don't men cover up also? because it's not useful for them, in contrary to women.

The only verse in Quran in this regard talkes about covering the upper part of the chest(JUBEHN),there is no mention of covering the face,Muslims scholars insist that the meaning of this verse includes the face,If what they claim is correct, which isn't,can they explain to us why moslem women are banned to put this cover during the Hajj ritual??Isn't the Shrine of Mecca is the Holiest for Muslims??Why then women aren't allowed to wear this cover??NO ANSWER !!!

Both men and women are asked to dress modestly.
Men are asked to cover themselves properly with nothing too tight.
