Why? Are they just caring about their stocks and oil buissnes and those kind of things? Like my father doesn't even believe in Global warming. Most adults don't believe Global Warming! I have never met an adult who cares. I have heard of some who do, my father came back from work and told me about a person who cared and had an environmentaly-friendly buissness. But I have heard those consequences will be around when I'm still alive, like for eg: Fish will become extinc in 50 years, and i'l be like what? around 60 years old or something and they won't even be alive by then. But why don't they care, and how do I get my family to care? I've triend so many things, but it just won't work :(

Wolfville you are 12 years old right? Well I am 41 years old. I have just taken my children back to my home town where we stayed with my parents for a few days. Do you know what?

I came back ranting 'Why don't my parents care about the Environment?' Like your Father, my Dad had lots of excuses. You are right, there are a lot of people who do not care about the Environment, but there are also a lot of people who really do care, like you. The good thing is that you will find lots of people from all over the world who care about the same things in Yahoo! Answers Environment Section.

OK so you are only 12 you don't feel like you have much power at the moment to change things. That will change, we need young people like you to help make positive changes, that help the environment, not hurt it. So well done you, keep up the good work. Keep learning all that you can from other answerers and from other websites and do the best you can at the moment. YOU can make a big difference.

Have a look at the links below: They are of a Canadian girl who made massive changes to people's attitudes. She was only 9 when she started an environmental club and 12 when she spoke to adults at The Earth Summit.

Not everybody can be like Severn Cullis-Suzuki but you can do lots and lots of things that will make a big difference. Perhaps, one day others will follow your example.

I'm an adult and not only do I care but have been an activist on the subject. Sometimes we can't wait for other people to do things 'en masse', but need to start doing by our own example.
It's a shame that more people, young and old, aren't taking the issue of Global Warming seriously. Most people who deny GW can point to an article or two to substantiate their beliefs, but anyone who does any real research of unslanted information would realize we are at a crisis level here!
People prefer to be in denial. It's still almost taboo to talk about sexual abuse; as if not addressing it means it exist less. Or if you live in a better neighborhood, you may not believe there's a drug problem because you're not seeing it on the streets.
The people who don't believe in GW are that way because it hasn't personally affected them yet. I commend you for wanting to stir things up and see action be taken; don't give up!

great question I don't think there is a definitive one size fits all answer for this. I think finances and estates should be settled before someone takes this burden on themselves. The person who cares for the elder should be compensated, if there is anything of value left. Personally, I am old fashioned. I will bear the burden of caring for my parents up to the point that their financial issues do not affect my personal credit rating and means in general, but I don't need much. Edit: I know someone, Joanne who is in herlate 80s and feels the same way as you. She wants to remain independent from her children and is still able and willing to work and does. She and her kids are satisfied. However, in the instance that she becomes unable to live on her own, I can't see why in the world her four children wouldn't "bear the burden" for her care. They are able bodied and their kids are grown and out of the house. However Joanne might have other ideas. They just have to see what works best for their family.

Most adults care. Maybe you just haven't asked the right ones. Sometimes adults are to busy with their jobs to think about the enviorment. Other times, Adults just don't care about the enviorment. But, sometimes if you take the time to find out you will find some adults that do believe in Global warming. anyway, you can find some kids or teens that do care and you can do little or big things that really help the earth! Then your family will begin to believe you about global warming.

Lack of understanding, education, could be many things. Many people will only care about something when it affects their bank account, or luxuries they've accumulated. Others have a more social view, with respect and consideration for all mankind and the planet. That is not to say the individualist doesn't have that, but the individualist is more worried about what affects them and not as much as the community in which he lives.

Having lived in Germany and the US, I have experienced the difference of the more individualist American (I'm American, but more social) and the more social european. As many well know, there is more doubt in America concerning Global Warming.

A lot of Adults are used to doing things their way, or the old way and don't want to change. It is a shame that some of the older generation seem to think it's not a problem, but through studies and campaigns to make people aware, things are beginning to turn around!
My parents now recycle as much as possible and got an allottment so they can grow their own veg and make their own compost!
People do seem to care, it's business that doesn't...it's just another bite out of the fat cat pocket!

Firstly dont sterotype! Just becuae your father doesnt believe in it doesnt mean all adults are the same! A lot of people, adults and kids, are passionate about the enviroment. dont concentrate on what you cant do or change (like your father's attitude) Concentrate on the things you can! Join or create an envoiromental group at school, Keep doing the little things at home. Then your family will realise you important it is to you!

first of all, stop being such a little baby, why,why why doesnt anybody CARE as much as me????!!!!! thats what you sound like. Global warming is a load of crap. whats the first thing al gore want to say? "its a concensus " that means there is no proof, no scientific proof of any of his claims, but it also means that enough morons like him BELIEVE that something is happening. let me give you an example. If a group of people say they "believe" that Jesus Christ rose from the dead to pay a penalty for humanity's sins, they are asked for the proof.they cannot give you the proof can they? so then people say they are weak minded sheep following a concensus. (I dont happen to say this but its an example) So, do you see my point? The Earth has been heating and cooling for who knows how long, the scientists cant even agree on how old the earth is.In the 1970's we were told that we were heading into another ice age, and that new york city was going to be under water by 1980. we were told that in ten years(from 1970) there would be no fish either. Guess what? Im going fishing today. The thing is that your mind is impressionable, you dont know anything about history or the left's tactics so you are an easy mark for them, the only things you know are things that have happened since you were born, so thats your frame of reference. The socialsts who are telling you how to save this or that by not doing this or that , they are just finding new ways to manipulate the population and the actions of people who are willing to subjugate themselselves. Al gore flies around in a private jet logging thousands of miles a day, burning more fossil fuel in ONE DAY than your family will in a year, but he will tell you to go out and eat leaves and grass while he served some endangered alaskan fish at his nobel peace party, which by the way was held in arizona, and his rich *** friends flew in on their private jets just for a few hours of hedonistic fun, wasting tons of fuel.So my advice to you is to grow up, get a clue, and stop being used by the leftists, who are making a fool out of you.Your father is right.global warming is a joke. Gotta go my truck has been warming up now for half an hour.wish me luck in my fishing trip? I'll think of global warming as I fillet the first of MANY fish I will catch and eat today.

It's climate change. Adults have graduated from college and understand that climate change has been occurring since the beginning of time. We have lived long enough to have seen years where the weather has changed, some years it has been colder than normal, other years it has been warmer than normal. Computer programs that scientists use is only is only as good as the information that has been programmed. Computers are machines and can't think. People get hystrical about climate when you can't change mother nature.

First, we do care about the environment, and we are putting our money where our mouths are, more so than the younger generations.

Second we have lived through dozens of "the world is ending" frights that just aren't true, just like this current scare of "global warming". This is over hyped and is more a media marketing scam than real science.

In a few years, it will go down in history just like the Y2K scare and will be totally forgotten, while something new takes its place.
