The false "gospel" that fundamentalists refer to is the "gospel" (doctrine) that you can be saved by doing good works.
This is indeed a false "gospel" and is one that the Catholic Church does not teach.

I'm guessing that they are referring to the books that the Catholic church added to the original scriptures of the bible. On th other hand gospel means "good news" so to call something a false gospel would be saying that it is imitating the good news of Jesus but actually contains no salvation just like a false leg may look real at first glance but it actually contains no flesh nor bone. That is to say that the gospel that the Catholics teach is false.
I have many more problems with the Catholic doctrine other than the extra books but I really don't feel like going into the problems of a church where half of it's origin and traditions are Christian and the other half are Pagan.

There are no "gospels" as such that the Catholic Church has that protestant fundamentalists consider false since the Canon is the same except that Catholics use the approved St Joseph Bible.
There are some traditions and philosophical conclusions in Catholicism that don't come directly from the scriptures and therefore are not recognized by Protestants, such as: the Assumption of Mary, Transmutation of the Communion Host and requirement for priests to be celibate. Baptists insist that communion wine should only be grape juice.
Protestants for the most part don't pray to saints to intercede for them, and believe that having icons are like worshiping graven images. Still, you'll see a lot of Protestant women superstitiously wearing angel pins.

They are called "Apocrypha" and are not included in the Canon of the Bible that was confirmed by the Catholic Church long ago because many were written long after the first four Gospels and also many contain heretical and gnostic teachings and are at odds with the first four Gospels. Oh and the KJV version of the Bible only came about after the First Catholic versions such as the Greek Septuagint and the Latin Vulgate, so I would call the KJV an imposter at best. and the Canon of the Bible in the form that we have it was confirmed at the Council of Trent in the 16th century, so obviously any other versions are only examples of people trying to change tradition and substitute it for their own ideas and teachings. *Hey Maxnull its called "Transubstantiation" not transmutation*

There are only four gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Catholic church recognizes only four gospels. Fundamentalist Christians recognize only four gospels.
I have no idea of what you are referring to by false gospels as all of Christianity is in agreement that there are only four gospels. None have created their own.

Yes, they are all the "extra" books the catholics have you read. The Holy Bible 1611 KJV is the ONLY book you need. The mormons are the same way with their "book of mormon" The Bible says absolutely nothing about using all the extra books and such. Also there is no such place as pergatory. If you feel there is, take a look in your Holy Bible 1611 KJV and show the verse to me. Mary is not to be prayed to, nor is she the "queen of heaven." She, along with all the other saints had their sins that had to be forgiven too and are all dead. They cannot hear your prayers. This is idol worship to pray to them. They are not "go betweens" for God. Jesus is the ONLY way. Catholics are very hard to try and tell the truth to because of the catholic church being the wealthiest church in the world with millions of follwers. This explains why the Bible says many will be called but only few will be chosen. We are all called to hear the truth of Jesus Christ. All rejectors will end up in hell. No lie! There is really no true religion. Jesus Christ is the only real truth and the way. I use to be a catholic and renounced the religion. I am now a born again Christian, follower of Jesus. The Bible does not say to join a religion. It also says not to call any man on earth your father, yet the catholics do it anyway by calling their priest "father." This is very disobedient to God. Also your priest is a man. He CANNOT forgive sins. He cannot even forgive his own sins. He is just another sinner like me and you. I could go on and on, but I will stop here. Please take a look at this website.

Everything.
The Roman Catholic teaches Mary is Immaculately conceived:
Catechism #491 Through the centuries the Church has become ever more aware that Mary, "full of grace" through God, was redeemed from the moment of her conception. That is what the dogma of the Immaculate Conception confesses, as Pope Pius IX proclaimed in 1854:
The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin.
Mary brought two turtle dove as offering according to the Law of Moses (Lev ch12) to the Temple in acknowledgment that SHE IS A SINNER. Being a sinner, she needed her Saviour (Luke 1:47). Being a sinner, she thus cannot be bodily assumed to heaven without dying.... as taught by the Roman Catholic Catechism
Catechism #966 "Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death." The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians:
In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death..... she is our Mother in the order of grace
and being a sinner she cannot be Mediatrix, Advocate........ as taught by the Roman Catholic Catechism
Catechism #969 "This motherhood of Mary in the order of grace continues uninterruptedly from the consent which she loyally gave at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, until the eternal fulfilment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation .... Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix."
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1Jn 2:1):….. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my Helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Heb 13:6)…… For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1Ti 2:5). Further more, it is Christ Jesus who it is ……..hath he (NOTE: not ‘she’, as if it was Mary) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (Heb 8:6). The Lord Jesus Christ is the Advocate, Helper and the only Mediator between God the Father and man, not Mary or anyone else...............and on and on..........

The Roman Catholic Church contends that its origin is the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ in approximately 30 A.D. The Catholic Church proclaims itself to be the Church that Jesus Christ died for, the Church that was established and built by the Apostles. Is that the true origin of the Catholic Church? On the contrary. Even a cursory reading of the New Testament will reveal that the Catholic Church does not have its origin in the teachings of Jesus, or His apostles. In the New Testament, there is no mention of the papacy, worship / adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-redemptrix and mediatrix), petitioning saints in Heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences, or the equal authority of church tradition and Scripture. So, the origin of the Catholic Church is not in the teachings of Jesus and His apostles, as recorded in the New Testament.

don't expect any valid answer from them. they just answer from ignorance and bigotry. they can't even defend their own doctrines, so what makes them think they can criticize other religion's doctrines and tell other people what to do? their constant protest against the Catholic Church has nothing to do with their being educated of what Catholicism is all about, it's simply the traditions among protestants to keep protesting against the Church. believe me, they don't even have any idea of what they are protesting about.
