I am getting induced tomorrow and the only person me and my husband trusts to watch our 2 year old son overnight changed her mind at the last minute and can't take him. Does anyone know if hospitals allow you other child to stay the night too in when you have no one else to take your kid? Or would they let me go home the same day , in this case?

There has to be more than just that one person that you can trust to take care of your son. I doubt the hospital will allow him to stay....not to mention it will probably be uncomfortable for him to stay, if it were allowed.
I seriously doubt that you will be able to go home the same day you are going to have your baby since you are being induced. Why can't your husband stay at home with your son?? There is nothing stating that your husband HAS to stay with you overnight. It might be better for your son and your husband if he stays at home with your son.....it might help your son feel more secure in this time of change.

Each hospital is different but most of them will not let the child stay over night. They will typically let husbands/support person but not children. Most hospitals believe that new moms need to rest and recover and taking care of a child will make that difficult.

I wish my toddler could come and spend the night with my husband and I when we have our child in December but she isn't allowed.

Most likely they will ask that your husband leave with the baby and find another place to stay (either a local hotel or your home).

Give the hospital a call for their individual policy,

I seriously doubt it. She's a germ carrying, not so subtle baby.
Would YOU want someone else's 2 year old underfoot when you were having a baby? Or if you were trying to work? Your child is not nearly as adorable to the staff and other patients as she is to you. Consider other people.
I know I wouldn't. There's a reason small children aren't allowed to visit everywhere in a hospital.
Why can't your husband stay home at night? Be there for the birth then go home.

i would imagine they would let him stay the night with you. when i had my daughter my son could have stayed with me if i wanted him to. if all goes well with your labor and delivery they should let you go home after a few hours. i only stayed in the hospital for about 5 hours or so after giving birth to both of my kids, just long enough for them to make sure that there would be no unexpected complications. it may be a good idea to have someone else stay at the hospital with you to help you take care of your son so you can have a few hours to rest and recover after all of your hard work.congrats on the new baby and good luck!!!

You will have to check with the hospital. Each hospital has different rules for different situations. Most hospitals, however, usually don't want toddlers staying overnight. The reasons are obvious - but check with your hospital first.

hmm. just remember before you hink if the hospital will allow them what a strain it will be on the kid you know a new place full of lots of hiding holes for "monsters".
but most hospitals have apartments for people staying with patients but he would be on his own.
my advice is to find a close and reliable friend and stick him there for the night

They are not usually allowed. Come on, just one person to keep your child overnight?
