I think that the morals and ways that they set by are great but God is a complete and utter bit of rubbish though. Sorry to be harsh but in my opinion " God" is non existent.

"Christians are Gay" - LOL. Funny one up there. Nobody will ever say that.

Christianity is gay (there must be many gay Christians). But Atheism is even gayer, because there are more gay Atheists than there are gay Christians. There are also SOME gay Atheists too, though (in a bad way).

"the answers have been typically bible thumpers defending jesus"

Now that isn't funny. People have the right to defend their religious leader. Jesus wasn't a killer or something, he was a peaceful man.

OK you got me . I was going to bed but I just have to answer quickly .
First I assume you are not meaning to use the term "gay " in a derogatory way , but rather a descriptive way . In that sense Chritianity ( as an established religion such as Catholicism ) often prevents , or at least discourages , it's members from true passionate , heterosexual , lustful, sexual fulfillment . They are often encouraged to be people with lukewarm sexuality that concentrates on reproduction and family bonding . These people sometimes have such repressed heterosexuality that it seems like they may be more into homosexuality ( in the closet ) . Or sometimes it seems that with the constant guilt trips and such they grew up with over straight dating , masturbation ,birth control , etc. , the only way for them to let go and really enjoy sex is to go gay .

Added next morning :
After getting some sleep, I re-read the question more carefully , and I feel that Jon S has used the term "gay" in a derogatory way . And that he fails to use the logic that is usually asociated with atheism . Why would a group of male and female "Bible thumpers" coming to the defense of one of the leaders of their belife system be considered homosexual ? Jon S , I Think you either think about that subject a "bit too much " , or you are trolling .

Your question is not "crystal clear".

Are you implying that all atheists think that Jesus was gay?

Do only atheist think Jesus was gay?

What is the value in determining whether he was or wasn't gay? Is the inference supposed to be understood as being pejorative?

To answer your question specifically: no, I don't think he was gay.

And even though I'm not a Christian, and don't believe that acceptance of his being my savior will in someway endanger me personally in this life or the one(or two, or three, etc.)after it; I do believe that he was an actual historical figure, who taught for the most part what is claimed by many that he did.

And I think he most probably was a liberated, a divine being who came back from the other side of transcendence to TRY and show us sometimes feeble and pathetic human beings what the ultimate meaning of life is.

AND I don't feel that he should be denigrated. He doesn't deserve it; and only small, little people would find any pleasure in attempting to deride him in any way.

An irate,

Wotan

I dont think that it's gay, but that doesnt mean I agree with it either. I would really rather not be so inflamitory on such a touchy subject.

Well the fact that many of their priests like to sleep with little boys is pretty gay.

I would have to ask : If you think christianity is a hoax, then what crusades and battles for religious freedom were in the name of athism?

Gay no... being forced upon someone not cool.

To say that one's religion is "gay" is wrong. Belive what ever you want, but do you have to bash someone elses belief because it isnt the same as yours? To answer your question...NO....I dont belive its "gay". And I am not a Christian.

Does anyone else think it is "straight" to use the word gay as a negative?
