Thank you, rabble and Gamera, for answering the question.

His, Christian-Wicca is a growing movement. There is even a yahoo group for it. :)

Max and G, you obviously have no idea what Wicca is. There are many similarities between Christianity and Wicca.

Oh, and G...I am Christian and have studied the Bible for 15 years now. I'll bet if you added all my hours of study up, it would be the equivalent of reading it cover-to-cover at least 10 times (which I have done twice, and the Gospels at least 100 times).

Oops...I meant D-Rock in that second paragraph.

2007-11-06 19:45:29 · update #3

Mid...I do believe that Christ is the redeemer of the ENTIRE human race.

I believe that the entire universe is made up of energy, and that God is that energy. This is why believers and unbelievers alike go to the Light during near-death experiences.

The original Biblical languages suggest both a male and female aspect of God.

God gave humankind dominion over the Earth. This does not mean we have the right to destroy it; rather we should reverence it.

Some Wiccans combine Christianinty with Wicca much the same way people into Santeria or voodoo do so. The reason they feel they can do this is because they think all religions are true (Universalism). But to do this, ironically, they discredit the teachings of these religions, and so really they believe none of them are true. You can't combine Wicca's "Wiccan Rede" and sex rituals and promiscuity with Christianity and it's Ten Commandments or Bhuddism with its 8 commandements (8 fold path, similar to the 10 commandements). Nor could you reconcile Islam, Zoroastrianism, Sihkisim, or Christianity because each teaches they are the only way. You can't reconcile Hinduism or Shintoism with their pantheon of gods and goddesses with Judaism, Christianity, Islam or Zorastrianism that are all monotheistic.

Here are the verses that condemn occult practices, witchcraft, etc. You'd have to ignore a huge chunk of the Bible in order to believe in "Christian Wicca".

I think this is a wonderful way to express your spirituality. What do you find interesting about Christianity? what do u find in paganism.

I'm a recovering vet from the christian army, now looking into paganism.

I'm sorry, you can't truly be both as they are contradictory beliefs. Of course, you can label yourself anything you want, but that doesn't change anything. Choosing to be Christian involves a complete and utter change in your life; it's not the same as choosing to put on a new outfit. Becoming a Christian means that you have recognized that you have sinned against God, broken His laws and have repented of those sins. Repentance is much more than simply saying "I'm sorry." It's a 180 degree turning away from your sin. It's confessing to God your sin with a heart that's broken and with a desire to leave that old sinful life behind. When you do that and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that He shed His blood for the remission of your sins, died, and rose again --- then, at that moment, you are made a new person, given the gift of the Holy Spirit who lives within you, giving you a new heart and new desires. Then you are a Christian. It is a life-changing event. It is the most important decision you will ever make.
If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior then you cannot serve another. You cannot serve two masters.

Edit: The original biblical languages, primarily Hebrew and Greek (for the New Testament) most certainly do not hint that God is female or has a female aspect. Jesus refers to God the Father, as God the Father. Jesus is referred to as His son. Father and Son are One. God did give us dominion over every living thing on the earth and we should respect the gift we have been given.
I'm glad that you have read the bible; having read it, then you should know that Jesus is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life and that none shall come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Jesus did not say He was one of many possible ways. He said that He was THE Way. There is none other. Further, He said that on that day, many will say to Him, Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness! (Matt 7:22-23). And consider these verses: 2Ti 3:1 Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand.
2Ti 3:2 For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good,
2Ti 3:4 traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
2Ti 3:5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.
2Ti 3:6 For of these are those who creep into houses and lead captive silly women loaded with sins, led away with different kinds of lusts,
2Ti 3:7 ever learning and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth.

If you have been studying the bible for 15 years and call yourself a Christian today, please consider whether you are truly in the faith. Today is the day of salvation; we are not promised tomorrow. God loved you so much, He sent His Son to die on the cross, beaten and bloodied for your sins. Don't turn away from that gift.

It's not an easy path but it is possible.

It's not my path so I can't advise, but I'd honestly suggest looking at Wiki & (At the least) that'll give some keyphrases to google.

As a Wiccan, I'm sorry hun, Christianity's really not compatible with anything resembling an understanding of Wicca.

See... Wiccans. lack. SIN.

Christianity is impossible without it.
Most people claiming to be "Christo-Wiccan" lack either a knowledge of Wicca or a knowledge of Christianity.

Canned post below.
Christianity has a long and storied tradition of magic. Try Christian mysticism, instead.

Your best bet is to look up CUUPS...

It stands for Covenant of Universalist Unitarian Pagans...

They are very Christian-friendly but mostly Pagan in practice.

Hope that helps...

I Agree 100% with D-Rock! He did a great job getting the truth out there. Its only when we turn to Jesus and repent of our sins that we can call ourselves Christians.

I don't know if that is physically possible.

Granted, Wicca was initially derived from Christianity, but wiccan practices are pretty much forbidden by many tenents of orthodox Christianity.
