I try to thank Him every day.
As for anyone who says they don't want to because their day sucked, unless some horrible tragedy occured, the trivials of life should never cause you to loose thanks.
Sometimes I walk outside, and get filled with joy, just realizing I live in a world where I can walk on beautiful green grass, gaze at a beautiful blue sky, and let the sun hit my face. There are so many things to be thankful for if you think about it.
Horrible things happen in this world, but it is only with the gifts we are given that we can do something to help those in need. And it is these gifts we need to be thankful for every day.

Hi! Actually, I think I am more consistent in thanking God for the day ahead, when I wake up, but this is a good reminder, to thank Him at the end of the day, too, when we can see that not only were His mercies new in the morning, but that He has been good to us throughout the day in so many ways! Even if we have a difficult day, we can thank him that all things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
So, yes, I will thank Him tonight - and thank you for bringing this idea to our attention!

Night time is considered sleep time. Many have a routine that is followed with prayer as we prepare to rest. I don't waste a moment in being thankful for my blessings that I am safe and healthy and am able to share; at any moment in my life.

You spoiled it by adding that "coming to the lord for salvation" part...
Why can't anyone just praise God without asking you to sign on the dotted line???
Yes, I thank God for another great day...
Do I need to make sure everyone else does? No.

I am not a Christian, but I am very much in favor of being grateful for the experience of life and every single day that I get to be on this beautiful planet, experienceing this majesty that is life, truly does make me very thankful and I love the practice of taking the time to be quiet and reflect on just how lucky I am. If you do this and call it praying, more power to you! I wish more people would do it.

each and every so often i ask your self merely what each and all the misfortune I see in my very own community and my state and my area advise...that's one element after yet another...and yet each and daily is a cutting-edge, it ought to consistently be worse and that i think those issues are fairly character development...many days the superb i can muster is to not experience bitter...yet in many circumstances i bypass to sleep grateful.

Yes in line with islamic teaching, before going to sleep we should thanks Allah the only one God for all goodness we have received and be patient for all badness we have experienced. and ask for God's forgiveness. We shoud make a prayer too asking for God's protection during our sleeping because we have no power at all without blessing of God.

The Lord bless you my sister. My prayer for you:
May today be all that you need it to be today. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight and conquer all your fears. May God manifest Himself today in ways that you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you, I pray that your territory is enlarged and I pray that you step into your destiny within the ministry. I pray for peace, health, happiness and true and undying love for God.
In God's Grace...
Amen

Every night before I go to sleep, I take a moment to stop and thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster, blessed is he.
I pray that he extends one of his noodly appendages and touches my mind while I'm sleeping so that I won't have any nightmares.

The Lord doesn't care if I thank him or not. If he does care, he's never shown it. Why should we thank the Lord for the day if we wish we weren't even born? If you feel safe, good for you, but what about the rest of us who are NOT safe! The most rediculous thing is that you've posted a thought, not a question, and then told us you can't be bothered even reading our comments, already assuming they're silly! Bah!
