I've owned an F-150 and currently own a Silverado. I was very happy with the F-150 and so far am very happy with the Silverado. My recommendation is to buy the one you get the best deal on. If you aren't a Ford Man or a Chevy Man, get the best deal you can. If you have a preference to one brand or the other, then go with your preference.
By the way, I had only owned Ford's until 2004 when I bought a Yukon for my wife. We were happy with it, which led to me trying the Silverado.

In my opinion you can never go wrong with a Chevy. Now let break it down the Chevy silverado has more horsepower if you are a person that likes to mash the gas peddle but yet it is still better on gas that the f150. Also more standard features and a better resale value. If you are into customizing you can find accessories for the silverado and it's more stylish. The Ranger to me is like a truck on a car's frame to small but if you are not into hauling and towing stuff I would get but you can never never ever go wrong with a chevy

Depends upon what you need it for.
The Ranger and S-10 are compact pickups and won't carry much load or tow anything very heavy.
The Silverado and F-150 are full-sized half-ton pickups with similar abilities. At that point, it's down to whether you prefer a Ford or a Chevy. Statistically, Fords do last longer regardless of what the Chevy ads say. But with proper care it's really down to personal preference or a coin toss.

Get the Ranger. Gas prices just hit 3 dollars (and will only go up--especially after we invade Iran) and the Ranger can get over 25 mpg if you're not racing. It's a strong truck, and the V6 should have a fairly good towing capacity.
Any half ton truck you get is going to get 18 mpg if you're lucky.
I've also heard of Rangers lasting over 400,000 miles. It's a basic truck, and therefore less can go wrong. Hope this helps.

i could pass with the Ford truck palms down. i'm going to grant a link referred to as "fact approximately automobiles" which suits directly to describe the F-a hundred and fifty, and rips it aside with different automobiles to get all the way down to the bones and instruct you the adjustments interior the toughness of the truck. that's all short video clips yet very informative. humorous a number of issues that the opposition decrease corners in somewhat, which contains the Silverado. there's a reason the F-a hundred and fifty is the #one million vendor in automobiles for 29+ years, and worldwide 12 months after 12 months. i'm nevertheless no longer offered on the Vortec engines, i'm offering a link to a layout difficulty which has bring about a classification action lawsuit with Pistonslapping interior the engines. Now on the financing, somewhat relies upon how plenty you place down. frequently the 0% wins out over the long term. except you intend a large downpayment and maybe one million-2 years of financing, then the rebate helps out. wish this helps...

A Ford truck with a Chevy v8 and running gear would be the best truck ever. A Fordarado. A 350 v8 and turbo 400 in a F150 would kick serious but.

I say Chevrolet, i daily drive a 1988 Silverado 5.0L v8, LongBed, Reg Cab and it is still runing with the best of them... a real truck.
Ranger/F-150, might be good trucks too,- BUT i have heard and seen too many troubles with those two...
S-10 is small for my use, and i have never given it much attention...
My Silverado has been taking me from the city concrete jungles to the dirt off roads of the mountains... and have yet to to put it to anything it could'nt tak care of... sure it's OLD and outdated, but it's still like a rock.

My 1993 Chevy S10 pickup is a 4by4 that isn t big but has a v8 in it. Therefore pulling what is necessary and not pulling an axle behind it. it has all of its original parts and is still running just fine. I ve pulled out many f-150 s out of mud out of snow and still a few were hauling about 7000lbs of water behind them.Still the s10 gets about 24 miles to the gallon.
