Our gym teachers grade us based on how fast we can run and how well we are at sports. The standards are pretty much impossible for my friends and I to get A's on because we hate running long distances. every time i know were running the mile i feel like im gonna cry because she doesnt let us walk or she deducts points...

well, it is fair, because your being graded on preformance and effort would be taken into account. otherwise it would not be fair to give higher grades to someone who gets more answers right in a class test!! same in everything in school, if you want an A you gotta work for it. i know this sounds mean but its just the way it is!!!

I doubt your grade is based on how fast you run. You must have misinterpreted your gym teacher's policy.

We were graded on completing a 5K or a mile run. In order to get 'bonus' points there were goals like a 6 minute mile or 27 minute 5K. But to base your grade on how fast your run seems very unlikely.

If it is true, then your teacher's grading standards need to be reassesed as some people are natural runners with a nice long stride and some aren't - like me.

Lucky your gym teachers don't grade on attitude. But I've spent my whole life as a slow runner, and I'm ugly. The only solution is to try your best and accept reality.

I always felt it was unfair to be graded on doing a 3-point football stance when we were never shown how and never practiced doing it. *sigh*

Life is life and it's never fair... So go with what you got and do your best. Good Luck

your grade should be based on improvement and effort. Some people aren't naturally inclined to run, so if they improve from their starting times, they should be graded with reasonable scores. Bad grades are for troublemakers or lazyness.

Your teacher sucks.

Yeah, thats not good of your teacher. Just try to get better at running long distances. Train yourself up to your goal.

Some people hate doing math. Should they not be graded on how many equations they can solve correctly?
