NJ, you have a good idea. A coffee cup with text

اَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ اِلٰهَ اِلاَّ الله
وَاَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَّسُوْلُ اللهِ

Jenn, thanks of your advise about the coffee cup text. I will drop it.

It is quite difficult to get Haddits book in English now. Don't you think it is too early for him to read Bukhari?

BTW, some muslim believe that pigskin is not forbidden to touch. It is not alloowed to eat.

There are 3 things that you can give him that can make a nice impact:

1. A sincere congratualtions, mabrook, attend the dinner, ceremony or whatever way he chooses to commemorate this event

2. A tape or CD of recitation, so that he can pratice, learn and be reminded of the words of ALLAh where ever he travels

3. A book of prayers, there are an infinite amount of prayers to learn, use and seekout per the varying human experiences we can have at different junctures in life. This, like the cd, is something that will not collect dust but be used often in his life, and surely he may even think of you and pray for you when he is reflecting on it

I think a coffee cup with any Islamic deeni is bad because you do not know how it will be used and maybe not thinking it will be disrespected.

If you are a Muslim who has little money you are not obligated to send him a gift. Something simple would be prayer beads or a collection of Hadiths or some other type of Islamic Text. Something which can be of use for him to gather more Knowledge about Islam. Inshallah, he will say Shahada and become a great Muslim.

Not at all, I think it is a great thing to read. Does not matter if he has just become a Muslim or not. English translations of hadiths are easy to find, especially Bukhari, Muslim, Dawood, and others...The Quran is complemented by Hadiths of Prophet Mohammed(PBUH)..

Leaving Islam is one subject - starting to be a member of yet another faith is yet another subject. what's your subject? you only prefer to pass away Islam or you prefer to connect some faith you probably did no longer let us know approximately? do no longer anticipate sturdy advice in case you do no longer supply specifics. Allah mentioned interior the Quran that there is no compulsion in faith - hence you're loose to do what you prefer. My advice is to stop in seek of help on line and locate some actual human beings to speak to. communicate the specifics of your subject. Take accountability on your movements as a mature grownup and stay with the consequence of your movements as a mature grownup. ultimately, remember that Allah is the main Merciful and the main beneficiant - something could nicely be forgiven different than associating a greater robust half to Him (like Jesus). What data are you searching for besides? perhaps you need to ask your self what the objective of religion is interior the 1st place.

If he's your friend, then the best you can give is your love and support and hope for the best to come away from this.
