Me and a friend are doing an assignment together and i think hes trying to get out of it...although, he has been away for a week and half..
My friend told me that he his blood is not "pure" (not sure what that means) and that hes going to have an operation...the doctors are gonna pump his blood through a filter to "purify it" and they only have 6mins to do it cause of brain damage issues...thats why he cant help me with assignment...

Do you think hes trying to get out of it?..does the operation he "claims" hes having actually exist cause i heard somewhere that after 3-4mins u get brain damage if there is no blood supply to the brain?????????

He may be trying to bullshit you to get out of doing his work.

Alternatively he might be trying to describe plasmapheresis to you and perhaps his understanding is not so good.

Dialysis is another possible procedure, but doesn't quite sound like what you have described.

It definately sounds like he is full of crap. Yes, there is such a thing as filtering your blood, it is called dialysis and it is used in people whose kidneys don't work. It usually takes 3-4 hours; not anywhere close to 6 minutes and does not cause brain damange since the 'clean' blood is going right back into the body at the same time bad blood is being taken out, so blood supply to the brain is not interrupted. It is a constant steady cycle.
Second, just to mess with his head, ask him some detailed medical questions:
Tell him that you did some research on the procedure. Be like "oh yea, so you're having a pleural hemoscopy. If he goes along with it, you'll know he's BS'ing you since there is no such procedure. Take it further and be like "so what kind of anti-nuclear anti-bodies do you have to intercept the hemadicodine from the transfusion?" Then ask him what his hematocrit and packed cell volume numbers are. Hematocrit and packed cell volume are the same thing, so see if he gives you two different answers. If he says he doesn't know or they haven't been taken, tell him that they had to have been measured or doctors wouldn't know that his blood was not "pure". If he gives you a number, it should be somewhere around 36-54%. Have fun with it.

Ask his mom! Maybe he is getting out of it.... or maybe not (I’m not an expert) the only blood transfusions I remembered are for anemic, aids, wrong blood type transfused earlier, he has few red either white blood cell and blood cancer. He either fooling around or his blood mixture is has lesser white blood cells or has a greater amount of red blood cells instead. Blood is composed of about 55% of a liquid known as plasma. The rest of the blood (45%) is made of three major types of cells: red blood cells (also known as erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes), and platelets (thrombocytes).

He may be lying, he may not. just ask him honestly.. if he doesnt admit to anything then dont take it as a joke, and do the assignment anyway. if it turns out to be a joke afterwards........well,lets just say just saying "sorry" wont be enough after you've been worried to death!
good luck!

Why didn't he say he had something that was more believable?

You should find someone else to be your partner. You needn't put yourself though this.
