Looking at the big picture, there is definitely more hate than love, such as racism, jealousy, prejudice and war.
love seems only reserved for small enclosed groups, to truly love a large group seems implausible, but to hate needs only minor reasons.
Many of you say you love more than you hate, but do you really think that it is easier to completely love a stranger moments within meeting them without wanting anything from them, opposed to hating them just because they smell or dress bad?

Because hate doesn't require thought, tolerance or forgiveness. You just hate because somebody somewhere gave you the impression that you had the right to judge someone else for some arbitrary reason.
Having compassion, being open to unfamiliar people or opinions, not reacting to differences you aren't used to, not being afraid of something new or unknown - that's hard work. It takes intelligence, honesty and a questioning spirit. Love is a big deal, and a lot of work, and it's completely worth the effort.

It is a self defense mechanism that man has evolved with . It takes time to trust others not to hurt us but to work with us . It is the instinct of survival of self , and then the survival of our family and then the survival of our tribe , followed by the survival of our race and so on . Laws are supposed to help us be more trusting by making punishments for hurting others out of selfishness . BTW the pherenomes in a mother's milk help the baby trust it's primary caregiver . Pherenomes exchanged through sex do the same type of things .

Just look at some of the other answers, they think it is funny that you ask questions like this. Every time I read a question like this, or a Christian question, I see those kind of answers. That is what the world is about. it makes it hard to love when you don't see much of it around you. I was at one time a very hateful man, I was mean, nasty, and vulgar. I accepted Christ into my life, and have changed with His help, and guidance. I am a very loving person, only Christ could have changed me. So when you want to hate, just remember that when Jesus was on that cross, he asked forgiveness for the people who mocked Him, beat Him, and crucified Him out of hate. He showed love. By the way you are loved, Jesus died and rose again because of His love for you. That means that I love you to.

looks like life is a large cycle: you initiate out understanding basically the thank you to love, and as life is going on, hate creeps in as love slowly creeps out...Time is going on and those issues that made you jaded exchange into the very motivations to deliver love lower back.... Love isn't ordinary...Its no longer ordinary artwork, its compromise and hate is basically a cop out...Its a thank you to handle some thing you concern, someplace down the psychological street... Buts its a large advantages once you come across somebody who's on the comparable love/hate ratio as you....

I find I have the exact opposite problem. I can't even stay miffed at someone for more than a moment or two, let alone angry. I'd have a hard time working my way up to hate, and I can't imagine why I would want to.

Matthew 7:12-14:
For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Separate the sin from the sinner. Hate the sin, but love the person, they are God's kid. This is unconditional love. Read 1 Corinthians chapter 13 to know what love is.

Because you are allowing the devil to control your thinking. As soon and you start reading the Bible, going to a very good Bible Study and Church you will start love and stop hating.
It's simple, you either follow the devil or God. The devil will keep trying to make you hate. He loves that because he thinks he has you.....until you prove him wrong by taking God in your life!

Love can sometimes require that we give something of ourselves that we may not be conditioned by society to give....so we often choose to dislike, disagree with or outright hate, that which we do not easily accept as our own version of truth.
