The body needs to move, in order to literally function. Once you become immobile, well the heart does not pump to all the extremities. From lying in once place the skin starts to breakdown, infections enter. While you can have IV to keep you alive and be fed by a tube into the stomach, the excretion process has to be seen too and again more problem for the skin. Without exercise the muscles atrophy, waste away. The list is really a downhill spiral.
