I had no spiritual guidance growing up, I would like to think it would have been nice but I now I know everything happens for a reason. If I had grown up a faithful Christian, I would not have met the man I am married to or had these kids...... So I am just happy I found the lord 5 years ago and that I can now raise my kids knowing the grace and glory of God!!

I was brought up in such a way as that I'll make my own decisions when I get older, and when the time comes. I feel that I could have used a bit more direction, especially spiritually.
Now that I'm older and married, I belong to a wonderful church. It is very old-fashioned and holds very high standards. The children are taught from a young age about important spiritual matters and an upright lifestyle (in all areas) is upheld, even throughout the teenage years.
Of course, a bit of wisdom comes with age, which allows me to see how good these kids and teens have it, being raised in truth, with parents who aren't afraid to teach and guide them.
What heartache one could save, what privilege that would be. Not to say that some don't go out and try out some worldly ways, doing things they know is contrary to Gods will (that's how I met my husband), but that message of truth is there, ever ingrained in ones conscience.
I definitely would love to have been raised in this truth. I am thankful that, although not guided enough (in my opinion), that my mother did cultivate a tenderness towards God, and things pertaining to Him.

I will opt for Tao/Zen or Vedic knowledge – may be mix of both, as they are more close to non-religion i.e. Truth.
But at the same time, I know that one has to transcend from the religion, because religion is a means (and not the final objective) to reach the ultimate Truth. In order to relize the Truth, religion has to be dropped.
In India religion is known as Dharma, which means true-nature of oneself, which is same for all human being. So in true sense religion cannot be changed. It's like fire’s religion/Dharma is to radiate light and heat, which cannot be changed.

I don't think I would switch what I was raised as. Nor would I change my years of searching for my present path. #1) Being raised in another religion (than my present one) gave me the ability to see things from other religious points of veiw when I started searching. #2) It also meant I had to search and thus I had to learn what I was going to believe. I've seen too many people who are born into a religion and yet, seem to know nothing about it and take it for granted. Searching for my Goddess made me appreciate her when I found her. #3) Searching also opened my eyes to all the many beliefs and ideas out there. I wouldn't want to loose that.

My present day non secular ideals do not probably in nice condition with any faith i be responsive to of, so i can't rather enable you be responsive to what i'm, there's no call for it. inspite of the undeniable fact that, i might elect to objective being area of an real interior of sight American faith, or another comparable shamanic faith. i might actually elect to journey that form of religion. regrettably, i'm getting the sensation which you would be able to not rather get the finished journey of it until eventually you're rather a member of the tribal those that prepare the religion. So, i might actually elect to alter not in basic terms my faith, yet in addition my identification, (a minimum of quickly).

I wouldn't switch. The religion that I practice affords me peace and love. I kind of like that.

I was brought up Christian, but I'm Buddhist/Atheist now. I wouldn't change my past. I'm glad I had the Christian teaching so that I now have an idea of where they're coming from.
