I just answered a question on here where the person gave us a "theoretical scenario" in which a male was abused by other males in their home and went on to become an abuser themselves...

I reminded the asker that the numbers per capita of child molesters are alot lower in among gays than they are with straights and I got 3 thumbs down in a row...

That's a little disconcerting to me...

Even if you believe that being gay is a sin, why would you ignore the truth?
Isn't that a little too manipulitave to be considered "good" by Christian standards?

Isn't it nice being judged by people who have never been where another has? It's nauseating that people have that type of group mentality. Homosexuality is not equated with child molestation. Where would anyone get an idea like that? This leaves ignorance in the dirt and stupid crossing the line.

Maybe you got the thumbs down because by making the distinction about the scenario being an adult male with a boy and this challanged to many peoples thought processes. Now they had to included other variables and may have poked on some strings within their own hearts.

I appreciate your challenge to the question and it did open my eyes some. Yes, the abuser can be a woman or a male and the child could be either sex. Many times the scenario presented is a same sex scenario.

Thank you for your input.

You're right. All objective scientific studies show that homosexuals are NEITHER child molesters nor pedophiles.

There is evidence that people who have been abused are more prone to become abusers themselves, but that has nothing to do with homosexuality.

I think people who gave you thumbs down, are coming from a religious and not a scientific view or felt you went off topic.

It all depends on perspective.

To some, a perversion is a perversion is a perversion. In that mindset, being gay is no better than being a child molester, but simply different, and still a perversion. It equates to saying that the numbers per capita of dismemberments is lower in minority serial killers than it is in majority serial killers. To the mind that sees gays as sinners, there's no difference; they are sinners, and that's all that matters.

I think that perhaps you're giving a bit too much value to the anonymous people that either support or refute your claims with a "thumbs-up/thumbs-down" vote. It may have nothing to do with the truthfulness of your claim, but simply the hypocrisy they see in it.

If it bothers you that much, than maybe you should seek a more controlled forum to participate in.

I never equated homosexuality with child molestation. I firmly believe that homosexuals can molest grown-up also. So can other people. I don't know if people feel any better with your statistic, people have the right to dispute it if it is offered without a citation. That doesn't necessarily make them a "bad" Christian.

Gays hate child molesters just as much as straight people do. The end.

I agree. Heterosexual males are more likely to molest a child than homosexual ones. Homosexual males have better morals than most straight men. They just love different.

I have heard of two males that became homosexuals b/c they first were abused by another male. I know that it certainly is not limited to that. I have heard of men becoming homosexuals b/c their Dad either acted as though they hated their son or one man that I know called his son a fag b/c his voice was higher than the average male, he didn't look like him, he had dark hair and his son had blonde hair. He told his son's mother that he was her son not his. His son became a homosexual b/c that is what people believed of him.

I believe the two behaviors you mentioned are unrelated. Homosexuality has nothing to do with child molestation.
I do believe in Gods eyes, both behaviors are sinful. They would fall under the category of Lust. Even so, our Savior is greater than all, and nothing is beyond the scope of His forgiveness. God Bless You.

homo sexuality is different from chid molestation. a male adult may molest a male as well as a female child. homosexuality is relation between two males irrespective of being adult or child.
