as long as the law of the land does not contradict the law of God, we are bound to obey. as soon as the law of the land contradicts God's command, we are to disobey the law of the land, and obey God's law. however, even in that instance, we are to accept the government’s authority over us. this is demonstrated by the fact that peter and john did not protest being flogged, but instead rejoiced that they suffered for obeying God

No Way! I have a much higher authority to answer to than the law.

I guess if they come into my house and take all our Bibles away. I will just have to read my notebooks. Hmm, come to think of it, they would really have to go through this house to make sure there wasn't a piece of Scripture somewhere. We have it everywhere, and in everything.

I'm sure there are enough real Christians that know the Bible by heart, that we could put it back together. Right down to the genealogy's, because God's Word is everlasting.

Breaking laws isn't that big of deal, thousands do it daily. The two points that make this question and issue is that A) Christians shouldn't break the law; and B) someone standing staunchly for their beliefs, going contrary to law. It's always controversial when someone stands up for their beliefs, inevitably offending someone (and sometimes, if need be, disobeying laws).

As other posts have said, we're to obey laws as long as they don't contradict the laws of God. Think of the reward one will receive in heaven for having the conviction and courage to stand up against the naysayers and haters (I suggest Foxes Book of Myrters, tells of hundreds of accounts of people giving everything, including too often, their lives, to stand up for God), as opposed to when judgeent goes one and one has to face God, knowing that he/she shunned Gods word, "just" because of laws.

Where ones heart has the desire to good and follow God, one will find a way.

LOL, you might even find a few more people subscribing to daily devotions, since it might become vogue to read, after it's banned!

Suppression of information almost never works for long.
The suppression of the Bible by the Christians themselves did last for almost a 1,000 years but when it finally was leaked to the public by Gutenberg it sparked the full revolutionary effects of the reformation.
Modern methods of propagating information makes prohibitions counter productive. The modern way of killing information is to drown it in noise. That is why misinformation is such a popular propaganda tool now.

Most people, most Christians are already obeying that law. Many who profess to be Christians do not even own a Bible. NO need for a law it is already happening.

The best example or response to your question I could think of can be found in the book of Daniel, chapter 3 in the bible.

King Nebuchadnezzar orders everyone to worship a golden idol at the appointed time or be put to death. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego refuse to worship and defy the king, only to be thrown into a fiery furnace so hot that the men who threw them in died from exposure to the heat. Nevertheless, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego are protected from the heat and flames by an angel of the Lord. Before being thrown in, in response to the King they say the following:

17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

They had enough faith in God to defy the King even upon the instant penalty of death knowing that God had the power to save them if it was his will but if not, they were willing to die rather than forsake their beliefs.

How many of us don't open the bible in the daily course of our lives and yet when posed with a question like this will quickly say they would never forsake the word or God for the law of man. Sadly, it's not until something is threatened to be taken away that we stop taking it for granted..........

No, we're supposed to obey the laws of the land - unless and until they contradict God. Daniel in the Bible is a really good example of this. He was an example citizen, until a law was passed that you had to pray to the king and not God, so he was thrown in the lion's den for obeying God and not man, but God saved him.

Did you know that "owning a Bible" is not allowed in some places today, such as in the Middle East and in China?? Talk about repression.

Peace be with you.

This is honestly not too far from happening. After the war with Iran over Israel, and we vote in the wife, the persecution toward christians will begin.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
