I was in an accident on my way home from work today, a sports car came screaming by and knocked me and another guy off the road, we hit each other and the sports car drove off.
We weren’t able to get the license of the other car but the cops came and determined it was a no fault accident. The other guy has full coverage, he was the only one in the car, I have insurance, but not on this car (I was driving it home from the shop as it just had some work done so that it could run, the insurance I have is only for my other car).
Anyone have any idea on this, its was minor damage, just some scrapes and small dents, both cars drive fine. This is my first ever accident so Im kinda new to this whole thing.

If it was no fault then you should each be responsible for your own damages.

If the other guy confirms for his insurance company the same thing he said at the scene - that the unknown vehicle that left the scene is 100% responsible - then his insurance company may handle his damage under his uninsured motorist coverage (not every state allows a hit and run vehicle to be considered a um vehicle).
However, if his story changes between the time of the accident and the time he calls his ins co (and this happens alot), and he blames you - then his ins co will settle with him directly for his damage and come back against you personally for repayment.
You made a very very bad decision to drive the vehicle on the road with out insurance on it. The policy on your other car will not come in on this accident to provide coverage for the uninsured car. The fact that the accident was not your fault - you just got lucky. I have been an adjuster for over 12 years - I have handled thousands of claims per year - In only 1 claim did a person hit someone on purpose. Every other claim - the at fault driver did not mean for it to happen.
Take this as a lesson. Next time you take a non-running vehicle to the shop- call your agent and have the vehicle added to your policy BEFORE you take it to the shop. Then when you drive it home - it has insurance coverage on it.
Your decision to drive this car with out insurance was very irresponsible. There is no good excuse to drive a vehicle on the road without insurance. And believe me, I've heard about all of the excuses.

If your GF was once final & induced the chain response, she is in charge for the entire autos, if an additional one hit her within the again, after the preliminary coincidence, then they might be in charge just for her rear harm (& probably a element of the others in the event that they hit rough adequate to motive MORE harm to the others). Your automobile coverage pays the damages as much as your coverage limits. If you best have $25,000 and even $50,000 estate harm, anticipate to pay a few out of pocket for the automobiles ($25,000/three automobiles = best approximately $8300 every; $50,000/three automobiles = approximately $sixteen, six hundred every). If you have got collision protection, your coverage pays on your vehicle much less your deductible, as much as the genuine coins significance of the auto. IF your coverage limits are exhausted, it's feasible her insurance plan might be introduced into it considering the fact that she was once the driving force, your coverage might be first, hers might be moment. Your coverage organization will examine in case your gf is a consistent operator of your vehicle & will upload her if she is, even though she has her possess coverage. Also, coincidence facets comply with the driving force so even though your coverage will pay, hers would be the person who might get the coincidence surcharge (if she is NOT further on your coverage). If the coincidence is unhealthy adequate despite the fact that, your organization might difference your ranking tier (move from favored to average tier) and even nonrenew when you have different claims or tickets. The nice character to invite what can occur on your coverage is your agent. They would possibly inform you what they "suppose" will occur seeing that they customarily do not desire to name the organization to uncover out & deliver the organization's concentration to the hindrance. The claims division does not ALWAYS converse the entire claims to the underwriting division, or someday the underwriter may be very busy & misses anything that can motive them to take motion at the renewal. I wish this is helping you.

I am not sure but I think when you have a no fault accident, noone gets in trouble or rates rising but also you are responsible for your own damages. So basically you cant sue that guy and he could not sue you becuz neither of you were at fault.

Hopefully the police find the guy that ran into you. Then their auto insurance would pay. Sorry, that happened to you. It really sucks when people do not do the right thing and stop and even see if anyone is hurt.

your fault or not you should have gotten a ticket for no insurance. I am sure it is required in all states. After that, you will probably have to pay for the repairs yourself.

I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED, YOU WERE DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE OR SOMEONE ELSE'S ???
IF YOU WERE DRIVING SOMEONE ELSE'S VEHICLE THAT HAD INSURANCE THEN IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE THAT YOU WOULD BE COVERED.
I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR INSURANCE AGENT AND IF ALL GOES WELL I WOULD GET SOME TYPE OF POLICE REPORT FOR YOUR PROTECTION.
GOOD LUCK

You should be covered, unless you have some endorsement that doesn't cover temporary driven vehicles. Check with your agent. You should be OK.

You either get it fixed or you don't.
You're lucky your state doesn't require insurance.
