Definitely NOT! toss it out. If my milk sits out in a glass for more than an hour it tastes funky. Get another one. You do NOT want to get sick from old milk, it comes back as cottage cheese. ( I am serious!)

Several years ago now (perhaps 20) there was a 'scare' over some bacteria (or virus) in eggs that caused a number of deaths and, as I recall, government scientists UK found that the risk increased when eggs were kept at lower temperatures and therefore advised against refrigerating eggs, strongly recommending that they always be kept at room temperature. Come to think of it, it's nature's way - eggs stay infection free at the chicken's body temperature (incubation) for weeks before they hatch... So your friend isn't crazy... unless it's crazy to ignore science.

The milk in pouches is normally pasteurised and does not get soul easily.Just to convince yourself that there is nothing wrong try to take the milsk out and heat a small portion. If it does not get sour you can consume it after duly warming it up.In middle class household with no frisds milk is generally heated up two to three times a day and the pot kept in water to bring refrigeration effect. Presuming that the milk has gone sour it can still be used for making paneer for making use in vegetables which lend a unique taste to them.

Ever heard of the sniff test? Spoiled milk advertises itself. PEW!!! And trust me, take a sip of spoiled milk & you won't go back for more. Bottom line, YOU'LL KNOW IF IT IS SPOILED.
Plus, milk is pasteurized now-a-days. that kills just about all the bacteria in the milk. which in turn extends its life. if it was never opened, it would have had little chance of becoming infected.
it should be fine. just don't make it a habit.

to all you people saying chuck it. do you toss out the milk it it passes the expiration date? HELLO, that is a sell by date. It is usually good for at least a week more.
also, the human body needs to fight off stuff to remain healthy. a little dose of the bad stuff can actually be beneficial. live in the real world.

Smell it. If it doesn't smell right- dump it down the sink. Unopenned unrefridgerated milk does keep longer than openned- but I don't know HOW long... So give it a "sniff"- to make sure...

People use to refrigerate their milk by putting it in a cold creek.
A general rule of thumb.. if it 's spoiled it will smell rancid.

No, I would toss it out. Milk should be kept in the refrigerator. Go out and buy some more.
