How many of you are telling people here they are going to burn in hell. I see this in alot of QAs from nonChristian posters that this is told to them all the time on here. I think I miss it when it happens, but Im sure it happens from time to time. So, do you do this and if so, why? Thanks :)

That's just it, I don't see it that often. Ever so rarely when it does happen, and in ways that make me doubt the the answerer is actually a Christian.

I am getting the idea that people complain about it more than it happens.

I have not done it period. I don't have to. They already know about Hell and don't need to be told a hundred times over. Telling people about hell and then turning around in the same sentence telling them that God loves them isn't going to work and hasn't worked and I don't understand why people use it. The meaning of the word stupidity: doing a task the same way over and over again and expecting a different result. If it didn't work the first 50 times why try another 50?

I do it because Jesus did it. He warned people the most about hell.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

No I don't tell people they are going to hell. Usually they(the non-christian) get told this after they have slammed something that a Christian had either asked or stated. Being hurtful and rude in the process. I don't think that they will burn in hell for that. I just think that the meaner they are to people they don't even know the meaner people they don't even know will be to them.

Sadly to say there are a large number of Christians on here that use that type of language but there is an equal amount of atheists that use hateful words.

I believe that it's just lack of knowledge and that person is yearning to be heard.

Personally, I believe no matter what religion you are (especially a christian) that you need to speak out of love. No one gets their point across by being hateful... I've never been stumped by somebody calling me a name, just by someone asking an intellectual question or a well thought out answer.

I believe almost EVERYONE on here needs to learn to respect other a little more.

I don't think I've ever told anybody they are going to burn in hell. I have said similar things, though. I have said that people who reject the gospel of Jesus the Christ will be excluded from the kingdom of God, and will suffer punishment for their sins. But for all I know, any individual I'm talking to may convert at some point in the future, so it's impossible for me to know that any particular person will burn in hell.

Honestly, I've never used that phrase here on YA: "Burn in hell." It's the truth, that non-christians will go to hell, but to put such a negative spin on it isn't a good witness. Scaring people into belief shouldn't be what us Christians are about. Sharing the love of Christ and being His follower--that's what being a Christian should be about.

I am being COMPLEATLY honest here.

I all the witnessing oppurtinities that I have had, hell, was hardly ever mentioned!

The message of the gospel is NOT condemnation-it is redemption from sin, & a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe!

Hell may have come into the conversation, but Jesus preached LIFE & FORGIVNESS, not death & condemnation.

That was how I witnessed, & why I never changed.

Some things that come to mind.
1. Doesn't really matter what we tell people - what matters is what will actually happen.
2. Christians are supposed to be doing what they can to lead people to Christ - not judge them. The Bible speaks clearly speaks against it. For example: "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven..."
3. Is a Christian a Christian by what they proclaim themselves to be or by what they do?

Salvation, or being saved, is a free gift offered by God through Jesus' shed blood on the cross of Calvary, Going to hell is the destination of every person who rejects the gift offered freely by Jesus. Kind of like a Christmas present, something you never had to work for, just a gift from a friend who loves you. The wages, that what you earn, of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life in Jesus.

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Jud 1:23 Rescue any who need to be saved, as you would rescue someone from a fire. Then with fear in your own hearts, have mercy on everyone who needs it. But hate even the clothes of those who have been made dirty by their filthy deeds.
