My husband has been accused of sexual things with out grand child, but it has not happened. I have been accused of being a witness to the happenings, but be assured my husband would be dead now if I had caught him doing anything with any of our grand children. He has been interviewed by the police & they even said that if they thought he was guilty, he would have been locked up. I really want to see my grandie, what steps can I take?

This same story was on the Dr. Phil show a while back but in that instance, the grandfather DID admit to sexually molesting his own granddaughter... he served only 2 YEARS in prison and was back with his WIFE who did NOTHING to protect her grandchild and still to this day lives with her child molesting husband and the 2 grandparents believe it is their RIGHT to see their grandchild even after the confession and jail time. Depending on the age of the child, MOST kids do NOT make something like that up and case workers tend to believe the CHILD... however if there is not enough evidence to CONVICT, the case will not be persued........Maybe your husband DIDN'T do anything---it is NOT my place to judge, but I DO understand why the child's MOTHER would not want you OR your husband near her child again....because the MOTHER truly believes that her child HAS told the truth and WAS actually molested by your husband.... You grandchild's mother must be torn to SHREDS by all of this and cannot trust you or your husband and now the SYSTEM... because she truly feels her child did not lie or WOULD not lie in this situation.... the truth will eventually come out and MAYBE one day you and your granddaughter's mother can make some arrangements for YOU only to see your grandchild---but if you push for it now while the subject is still too raw, you will push her further and further away from you....... give it time...one way or the other... TRUST is a difficult thing to get back once it is lost REGARDLESS of the circumstances....

That's a pretty serious situation. If he was accused of something that terrible, I would hope that the person who made the accusation truly believed that was going on, and didn't jump to conclusions without probable cause. Anyway, to your question. There really isn't much that you can do. If the childs parents don't want you or your husband to have access to your child, that's their right. Your best bet is trying to have a rational conversation with your son/daughter about the circumstance.

I presume the parents are the accusers? There must be dysfunction in your relationship with them? Either that or they are nuts? Either way I feel sorry for you and the child.

EACH STATE UNDER FEDERAL LAWS HAVE GRANDPARENTS VISITATION RIGHTS.
TAKE THE POLICE REPORTS TO THE JUDGE AND ASK FOR AN ORDER TO SEE YOUR GRAND CHILDREN.
