They drive on the left-hand side of the road in the United Kingdom with the steering wheel being on the right-hand side of the vehicle.

Don't take any notice of the last poster--different strokes for different folks and all that. these' standard of living' surveys give countries huge amounts of points for things like 'space'--well of course places like America have way more of that. However, it doesn't mean we live in each others pockets here--I look out across fields from my house and its very quiet.
I actually lived on the US border at one time and had an opportunity to live in the US but turned it down. Just not my kind of place, too many guns around and no decent healthcare system in place.

Research. Research. Research. Buy a book or go on-line.

I found one by googling and posted the link below. You can find many more.

There is so much information it will not fit here. I highly suggest buying a Lonely Planet travel guide book for Great Britain and reading the sections they have for culture, money, transport, etc..

If you have a specific question please post...

Expect to be pulled over by the police pretty pronto and breathalised if you drive backwards.

Can you bring some peanut butter M&Ms with you. We can't get them here...

lol no we don't drive backwards. we drive on the right side of the road, not the left. also, the steering wheel is on the left side of the car, not the right.

Don't do it!!!

Argh... the standard of living in America is FAR, FAR higher than in the UK.

Almost everything is cheaper. If you don't like where you are - move to another state. Move to bloody New England or something.

Please reconsider this =/
