If you aren't learning something at Mass, it's because you aren't paying attention. MAKE yourself get more actively involved in Mass and it won't be such a waste of your time. It's never a waste of time to worship Jesus, anyway, nor is it a waste of time to receive the Holy Eucharist.
It seems to me that your parents have not given you a very good education in Catholic theology. You need to ask to go to RCIA or a "Godteens" program or something like that at your church where you will definitely learn something. To get more out of Mass, read "The How-To Book of the Mass" (don't worry, it's not long) by Michael Dubriel. You might also want to check out the "Prove It!" books for Catholic teens by Amy Welborn.
Grow your faith in the Lord and Mass will be a joy to you!

If you aren't learning, you aren't listening.
I learned a lot in mass, especially about other people, if nothing else just meditate on your problems and pretend all the kneeling and standing is a silly game of simon says...
think "Simon says kneel", when you have to kneel.
Then if someone screws up and stands or kneels when they aren't supposed to you think
" Ohhh. Simon didn't say 'Simon says'"
It makes mass so much more fun./

Our kids go to mass almost every day. They do not go to learn but because you are Catholic, it is to spend time with the true presence of Jesus in the tabernacle and the eucharist. God likes it when kids come to visit. He actually said let the kids come unto me...do not stop them...

Even if you don't "learn" anything while there, think about this:
*You are in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist!*
Try getting involved in you parish youth group or religious education program.

I know that it seems really boring right now, but you are learning patience and perseverance. You need these things in order to deal with the world when you leave home. Trust me, there are lots of people don't know how to be patient nor how to persevere.
