That way everybody wins; the people protesting won't have to worry about our soldiers killing people who they insist are innocent and we won't have to put up with their crap anymore.

22steve- If you protest against the same military you voluntarily chose to enlist in in then you're a steaming pile of hypocritical ****.

However, if you are drafted then it's perfectly fine for you to protest because you had no other legal choice.

I would proudly serve in the military myself if I could; in fact I went to the local National Guard recruiter's office some time ago and told them that I wanted to join but they said that I couldn't. That's one of the things that really steams me; that people like me would give damn near anything to be in the military can't because of an automatic DQ while there are so many like you and Ehren Watada who make it into the military and then ***** and moan about how the war is illegal, our government is corrupt, etc. after you join instead of using your head and thinking about such things first.

Mich - Once again, the people fighting in Viet Nam were drafted so they didn't have a choice (legally anyway) of whether or not to serve, whereas every single person who entered during this war KNEW that we were at war and KNEW that they weren't legally obligated to serve like the soldiers in Vietnam. Anyone who isn't willing to die for the sake of our country shouldn't sign up in the first place. Period.

excellent idea. good points. i like your thinking.

Whoa people. i have a few who are over there right now. I am sure you know people there too. How the hell can you NOT support them? The people i know want to be there, and hate all the protesters. Protesters are morons and do need to be sent. That would certainly open their minds.

No then as a soldier I would not be doing my job. Even though I think they a lowly my standards will never change and I will defend them. I definitely will not be friends with them, I tell them to shut the F up when they start talking politics in a bar, but I will defend them too. If we were to choose who we defend and who we throw to the wolves we would not be doing our jobs.

even nonetheless to a lot of human beings it would desire to sound like a solid theory (via fact human beings may be heliocentric and concentration upon their very own issues), it in simple terms won't be able to be accomplished. We, the USA of a, are a international great-skill. a great-skill refers to a rustic that has overachieved the quite purpose of being a rustic, and now has the authority in many international concerns and/or conflicts. With that success, there comes duty. the US has won its identify as a great-skill for turning out to be to be a member of wars (WWI, WWII) that has ultimately led them to having a recognition in the international community. If we've been to tug our troops out in Iraq, enable us to evaluate what might desire to ensue: A) A corrupt government B) Having Iran with a loopy president construction weapons of mass destruction with uranium. C) North Korea launching extra missiles. D) a danger revival of genocide in Africa as we've seen in Rawanda. E) boost in distant places and family individuals terrorism. there replace into as quickly as a piece of writing approximately Teddy Roosevelt wherein he replace into pictured status on suitable of united statesa. with a rebellion stick categorised "the international Police" it is our pastime at present in united statesa., to maintain a feeling of order for the time of the international. while the Korean conflict began, who helped the United international locations end the communisits on the Arminstince Line? The human beings of direction. The human beings made up a great style of the UN forces. i do no longer think of we would choose a international such via fact the only Adolf Hitler needed. a international of genocide. The words "we can in simple terms provide up somewhat speedy just to maintain the peace" seems extremely adverse if i could say so. think of a international without the US. think of a international that throughout ordinary terms had the 6 continents fairly than 7. think of a international shrouded with people who dared to attack the US. might you, as somebody circulate to mattress peacefullly at night? Or might you sleep in terror, praying that there may be no harm befalling on you? My answer is: "the international may be doomed if our troops weren't international". i've got self assurance we could consistently applaud our troops for their bravery struggling with against people who opt to do harm to us".

Your question is just the other end of the spectrum form those people who want to just pull out the troops and let the Iraqis kill each other.

Sadly when you join the military you sign up to do what the president says to do.

It is even sadder that even our president can be wrong.

if not for war protesters we would still be losing good young men and women in Viet Nam. is it not ironic that the reasons we claim to be in Iraq (at least the last reason given) such as free speech, life, liberty, democratically elected government, are the things you would have taken away from ourselves?
if we can not speak out against our government's policies how can we impress upon others the importance of our way of life and our liberties. supporting our troops has absolutely nothing to do with supporting a bad policy. my father and brother are vets my daughter currently serves in our air force. you do not have the right to question whether i support the troops. you have not earned the right to question my loyalty. as long as our troops fight for freedom around the world i will be damned if i will allow ignorance deprive us of our right to free speech and to hold our government accountable.
