I'm an odd duck in that don't place much stock in my own emotions - what I mean by that is I strive to not take things personally. I assume that when my emotions control my response than there is a good chance that I am missing the other persons point. Unfortunately I often think that there are many other people like that, and I can insult and offend others unknowingly. What I have gleaned from this here is practice, of a sorts. There is safety behind the cloak of anonymity that makes it feel safer to be direct with people, in a gentle way. I frequently say 'direct and respectful' - what I have learned to practice here is how to be 'gentle' at the same time. I believe it has helped me be a better Practicing Human Being. (((Ramjet)))

I have found that folks tend to have the SAME views, regardless of wich faith that they follow. People of Faith are just like people in general. Some are open, honest, caring and sharing. Others are selfish, demeaning and dictatorial. The folks that follow different paths than I do have given me a lot of insight as to how and why they think the way that they do. Anyone can be a GOOD Christian/Jew/Muslim with those of their OWEN faith when they are around those of their own Faith. The proof in the putting is how they interact with others of DIFFERENT Faiths. If they do nothing but quote Scritpures and use those Scriptures as a way of bashing and coercing others to come to their way of thinking, then they show, by their exapmple that THEIR way is NOT the way to follow. They are what I have come to call Bibleans (There are Christian Bibleans, Muslim Bibleans, and yes, even Jewish Bibleans). This differentiates them from those who are TRUE Christians/Muslims/Jews who actually LIVE their Religion by the way that they love, accept and care for everyone, not ONLY folks of their OWN Faith but especially folks of OTHER Faiths These folks are what I accept as being TRUE Christians/Muslims/Jews. They teach by example rather than with hollow words from a book. They have MY admiration and affection. The Bibleans, I have nothing but disdain for, they're hypocrites who pick and choose which principles of their own scriptures that they'll live by and ignore the REST of the messages that are contained in their holy books. They are hypocrites and give their respective Religions a bad name and a bad reputation.
I am proud to have met the TRUE Christians/Muslims/Jews that are on my fans/contacts lists and am appreciative for their kind words, enlightening statements and pure out and out friendship. The rest, can go off and pound sand for all that they're worth.

I inform my spouse always that the sensation she will get at church is not god, it is the experience of being in awe of anyone or some thing. Being within the presence of some thing you idolize. If you watch a few video from ancient Michael Jackson concert events (pre-pedophilia Michael), you'll be able to detect that lots and lots of females and guys cross out screaming for him, and faint at his contact. Michael does not have magical powers, he is readily idolized by way of individuals. The equal is going for Prince, The Beatles, and a few different artists. Being in a location in which there are lots of others that proportion the equal feeling intensifies the sensation, and makes it that a lot less difficult to only pass with the sensation. Without idolizing those individuals are those matters, you are not able to get that feeling, without reference to how others think. That's why I certainly not bought the holy spirit, even though the preachers declared god was once within the condominium and was once touching each one in all us. That's additionally why christians say you are not able to comprehend except you take delivery of him into your middle. Unless you proportion the fantasy, you are going to no longer proportion within the delusional festivities. If you do not like Michael Jackson, you will not cross out whilst he touches you. But when you idolize him, you generally will.

Well, some of the people here are very insightful, and then there are those who are ignorant and believe everything that they're told with out actually exploring their beliefs. Sigh...... I guess that even retards are entitled to an opinion. There is so much room for argument here when you get such clashing beliefs in one area, and nobody is willing to give an inch. Religion is one of the worst things that I honestly think you can discuss, because there is so much passion on both sides and so little proof either way. Religion is something that can be felt but not proven

There has been a lot of frustration, that's for sure. But I think the one positive thing that I have taken from R&S is the reaffirmation that there are good people in the world, people who can look beyond things like religious belief. Granted there are people who can't. But that only makes those who can that much more worthwhile (like you! :P)
I've also learned that trying to change other people's view of me is impossible if they are unwillling to take me as I am, not as they choose to see me.

i have met a lot of good people here ((ramjet)), that i would never have been able to meet otherwise.
the most frustrating thing here is the way my friends and contacts keep getting suspended...unfortunately it shows that there is still an awful lot of intolerance in the world.
it's kind of like what v.c. said...you expect people to be like you. if you're easy going you think everyone is. what i find humorous other report. it's sad.
i wouldn't have missed this for anything though.
bright blessings to you.

I have experience a lot of frustrations. Why do people who ask questions in R&S ask questions that they have already conceived the answers? They are not looking for opposing views. All they desire is that people agree with them.

I have made friends across the full spectrum, just as you have, I enjoy the interaction, that causes understanding.
when my contacts hurt I can feel their pain, but I can also feel their joy, when good things happen.
it really bothers me when they are put down because of their beliefs.
and I have learned to look at the inner person, instead of their belief system.

I have learned a lot of useful things about Judaism.
I have also gotten quite frustrated with the American Christian majority.

Well, my friends I've made here have been a great support to me at a very difficult time in my life; I honestly have taken tons from them and given back little in return. That's what makes them so great, though--they are my friends despite the unequal nature of our friendship. I appreciate their patience with my immaturity and my spoiled rotten behaviour; they have opened their hearts to me, a stranger, and made me welcome. I can never repay them and my gratitude is endless.
I love my friends here like my family.
