Living in Korea and being around all the skinny Asian women has put thoughts in my head to lose some weight. Has this happened to you? I never thougth about my weight when I lived in the States. I'm normal there. :)

Maybe, but I have what all women want which is one of those magically bodies where you can each whatever you want, how much you want and still stay slim.

Not really... but I did lose a lot of weight my first 6 months in Korea just because I was eating healthy food and walking a lot. No matter how much weight I lose I'm never going to be Korean girl skinny...

Of course I'm now 5 months pregnant and look like I've put on 10 more pounds...

I live in China and it does make me want to weigh less. I used to live in the Southeast in the US. Heavy girls are more accepted, even desired, in the area I was living in. I have lost quite a bit of weight through diet change (fast food is expensive, fruits and veggies aren't), no elevators, and walking a lot since the public transport here is so easy. Since I'm planning to go to Korea I want to get toned up so I'll only stick out for my foreignness and not so much for my weight. Like you, I am also normal at home.

You make a good point. I noticed that most foreigners do lose quite a bit of weight living in Korea.

It sure gives one an insecurity complex when you hang out with skinny people all the time. During my college days I was the tallest one in our group, I was about 5'6 and big boned, the rest of my friends were about 5'0 and below and thinner that Sarah Jessica Parker! But it's okay, everybody is unique and I'm just happy that I can find my size in stores and they usually had to shorten, tighten or repair theirs :)

Of course you should want to lose weight. Most North Americans I see are just so overweight, it is really shocking how unhealthy they must live. I can hardly understand how anyone would do such a thing to his/her body voluntarily!
