why not send her an e-card if she has an email ? Whats her fave theme/character or maybe even find her an "I'm sorry" online card or find one in the card shop. I'll bet if you told the clerk there what you want it for, she'll help you.
Do you know the whole story of why your biofamily sent her to jail ? It had to be something wrong or the police wouldn't put her in there. They were probably doing what they thought was best for you. And it must have been pretty serious for you to be living with your bio parents. It must have been really serious. Did you ask your bio parents why you were taken away from your adopted mom ? I would be curious if it were me. Maybe this is related to why they sent her to jail. Trust their judgement, thats how we learn when we're kids, be open-minded.
Why not ask them why they did it ? Then talk it over + tell how you feel about it. Then ask would I have done the same thing for my kid ?

There must be a reason for her being behind bars. I don't think you need to apologize. You should speak to your biological family and have them write your adoptive mother a letter. I hope they didn't make up a lie and had her arrested because your biological family can face consequences for that.

Amy Lee of Evanescence wrote the song "Hello" about her little sister that tragically drowned when they were kids..... it's such an incredibly sorrowful song, it's dripping in heartbreak and emotion. So much so that it's the only song Evanescence has never performed live. I get the idea that if Amy were to try and sing it, she would be overwhelmed and completely break down into tears, unable to finish the song and maybe even the concert...... Great question Scream.

Sweetie, If she doesn't hold it against you, then don't worry about it! I am sure that she will understand a LETTER IN YOUR OWN WORDS from YOU!!
Since I don't know the reason or what happened to put her behind bars, I can't really say much as to what is going to happen.
But tell her, go visit her, if you are too young, call her attorney and talk to him/her and tell your side of things! In the long run it may hep your mom and then she will know that you are on her side, not theirs and want to help her!!

You have to write the letter..because that's the only way that this guilt and hurt will fully leave you. You need to write this letter..don't take a letter written from any other heart..but yours. I know that it's hard to write a letter like this..but it needs to come from you. It's okay to cry...while you write it..because that means you really Love your adoptive mother. You have to write it..you already wrote it once to us..all you have to do is rewrite it for her. Okay?

This is sad. Visit her often and write to her. I am sure she knows you are not the responsible person for putting her in jail. You are not the one who should be apologizing to her.
I am sure she feels the love you have for her, this will get her though the hard times.

I AM ADOPTED AND FOR 44 YEARS HAVE SEARCHED FOR MY REAL PARENTS.
BE GRATEFUL YOU KNOW WHO SHE IS. VISIT HER AND WRITE WHAT YOU SAID HERE.
SHE IS YOUR MOM AS THE OTHERS ARE YOUR PARENTS ALSO. THERE IS ONE WHO BROUGHT YOU INTO THE WORLDS AND ONE WHO RAISED YOU IN THIS WORLD. READ THIS POEM--I HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 45 YEARS NOW.
LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD
ONCE THERE WERE TWO WOMEN
WHO NEVER KNEW EACH OTHER
ONE YOU DO NOT REMEMBER
THE OTHER YOU CALL MOTHER.
TWO DIFFERENT LIVES
SHAPED TO MAKE YOURS ONE.
ONE BECAME YOUR GUIDING STAR
THE OTHER BECAME YOUR SUN.
THE FIRST GAVE YOU LIFE
AND THE SECOND TAUGHT YOU TO LIVE IN IT
THE FIRST GAVE YOU A NEED FOR LOVE
AND THE SECOND WAS THERE TO GIVE IT.
ONE GAVE YOU A NATIONALITY
THE OTHER GAVE YOU A NAME
ONE GAVE YOU THE SEED OF TALENT
THE OTHER GAVE YOU AN AIM.
ONE GAVE YOU EMOTIONS
THE OTHER CALMED YOUR FEARS
ONE SAW YOUR FIRST SWEET SMILE
THE OTHER DRIED YOUR TEARS.
ONE GAVE YOU UP--
IT WAS ALL THAT SHE COULD DO.
THE OTHER PRAYED FOR A CHILD
AND GOD LED HER STRAIGHT TO YOU.
AND NOW YOU ASK ME
THROUGH YOUR TEARS
THE AGE OLD QUESTIONS
THROUGH THE YEARS;
HEREDITY OR ENVIORNMENT---
WHICH ARE YOU THE PRODUCT OF?
NEITHER MY DARLING--NEITHER
JUST TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF LOVE.
AUTHOR UNKNOWN
MY MOM WHOM I CALLED MOM, AND KNEW AS MOM, DIED IN 1996 AND DAD IN 87.
MY REAL DAD DIED IN 97 AND MOM?? YOU ARE LUCKY TO HAVE FOUND YOUR MOM AND YOUR REAL PARENTS ARE SCARED.
YOU ARE LUCK YOU HAVE FOUND BOTH WORLDS. THE QUESTIONS ARE MANY I KNOW.

How about sending her a copy of exactly what you said here? This didn't sound too hard to say, and if you love your mom, anything you say can't hurt.
