I have a father in-law... who is EXTREMELY hard to buy for... cause he has everything he wants.....

I can't think of anything apart from the likes of a TAG watch...

Any Ideas??

SOMETIMES THE SIMPLEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE MORE THEN AN EXPENSIVE THING.

YOU OBVIOUSLY THINK A LOT OF HIM AND I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TAKE HIM OUT TO A BALLGAME, A DINNER AND GIVE HIM A PICTURE OF YOU(FAMILY) WITH SANTA.

I HAVE 11 GRANDCHILDREN AND ENJOY NOT THE GIFTS BUT THE PICTURES OF THEM AS THEY ARE GROWING EACH YEAR.

MY OWN 6 CHILDREN ALWAYS GET ME A PICTURE OF THEM TOGETHER AND THE FAMILY TOGETHER AS WE ARE ALWAYS APART LIVING IN SIX DIFFERENT STATES.

I had a father-in-law that had EVERYTHING... what I would do is give him personally made things.. and once the kids came.. paintings by them or pictures of them in nice frames always worked... (ps large LARGE family so we did grabs)

If he has hobbies maybe a gift certificate to one of the stores he frequents.. or especially now... a gas card! or car washes..

buy him something he uses regularly.

love his car? buy him a coupon book for washes
play golf? buy him personalized golf balls, or coupons for the driving range
does he drink? buy him a fine wine, or aged brandy
does he like sports? buy him tickets to his favorite sporting event (if its too expensive, go minor leagues)

a gift doesn't have to be material. think of giving an experience or a memory

i think of that what you proposed to her sounds ordinary. you are the mum, and you're coaching her to artwork for funds like all of us would desire to do. $80.00 is plenty for a 10 12 months previous's acquaintances, so i for my section think of that it somewhat is a ordinary commerce with the quantity of artwork she could be doing for a 10 12 months previous. as properly, she would manage to study some thing much extra approximately being in charge with the aid of helping you with the laundry. as properly she would manage to be rewarded for helping. no longer something in life is loose or comes without making an attempt, and that i think of she is sufficiently previous to start gaining know-how of those instructions. as properly it is going to provide her a glimpse of ways plenty artwork you do as a mom. do no longer enable her talk you into in simple terms spending that funds without her doing something to earn it. you are the mum, and you already made your proposal to her on the placement. i think of it somewhat is disrespectful while babies attempt to speak their mom and father out of issues like this.
