I have a small baking business and one of my best sellers is pumpkin bread with diced maraschino cherries and chopped pecans. When I make no sugar added pumpkin bread(which I make more than with sugar) I use chopped fresh cranberries and walnuts or pecans. Both are great sellers.

My mom used to make pumpkin muffins using a recipe she got from Old Salem, NC. It's been far too many years since I've had one, but as I recall there were no nuts of any kind in it, just raisins. Would have made a spectacular sweet dessert bread.
