I was working with this girl at a desk, who I kind of like, and she had to deliver a package to another part of the building. After she came back from delivering the package, she was about to cry after some guy had verbally sexually assaulted her.

I didn't know how to react, but what Should have I done...???(you know for future reference)

You should have asked her if she was ok, and if she said that she was hold her, or give her a hug. Just to re-assure her that SOMEONE cares in this world! If she said no, give her an even bigger hug! When a woman is sad, that only thing that they want it a hug, or some time to think about it. Hope this helps!!

Well find out what they looked like and report them to your supervisor and spread the word that there is a person in the halls verbally assaulting people in the building. You don't want other people being a victim! Make sure you comfort her and tell her exactly what you are going to do about it and how she is going to be fine and that your not letting him do it again to her! She will probably want to cry for a while and thats fine sometimes girls (like myself) just need time to cry things out.

You should report it to a manager. They are legally responsible to act on it. They also are suppossed to leave you name out of it and guarantee you confidentiality. If she does not want to report it, you should still take it to another level before someone else gets hurt.

Tell her she should complain to upper management. Its not your place to really do anything other than to say that, and maybe say a comforting word. It technically her problem, not yours, and you get directly involved in it can backfire in your face.
