I think I am as good person as a Christian, always ready to help others, I don't kill or rob people etc, and I wonder if despite of this God is going to punish me and send me to Hell.
What do you think?

In short, no you are not.

I have seen plenty of atheists who are good and moral people, as well as plenty of so called Christians who do truly horrible things.

I am agnostic, but most definitely not Christian. I live my life that actually follows a lot of Christian morality, not because I fear that I HAVE to, but simply because I feel it is the right thing to do anyways. For example, I naturally follow some of the ten commandments such as not stealing and not killing. I try to treat everyone equally and care for all people. Some things from Christianity I do not follow though. For example, I find nothing wrong with being gay. Also, I do not believe in sex only within marriage. I think you should be in a committed relationship, and I will never have a one night stand, but I think that if you choose to have random sex, that in itself does not make you a bad person.

I think it is more important to live your life the best way you can than to spend your life locked in a church being afraid of God. Although morality and religion often go hand in hand, it is very easy to have morality and no religion.

Will God punish us for not believing in him? Well, there's no way to positively answer that. I hope not though. Even Christians who may tell you what God thinks of you do not actually know, they are just assuming they know what God would say. Hopefully being a moral person is good enough.

You can not be categorized as a bad person because of your beliefs just your actions
It is a sad reality that lots of people confuse the two
But along with the times definitions of good, bad, and acceptable have changed and will continue to do so for eternity
And if there is a God I can't see how he could punish you for one small disbelief

not go to heaven and I guess, in a
sense you will experience the effects
of this in your after life. This doesn't
mean that you are a bad person.
There are wonderful people that
do not believe in God, however,
it is not good works that saves an

in him. Good works and being a moral

The wording of your question suggest that you do believe in Him. How can you consider a good christian who doesn't believe in God, a little contradicting. However, if you Have not accepted Christ as your savior then you could be "punished" secondly you may consider yourself a good person but your not the judge. The bible states that if you have broken but one law then you have broken them all and the penalty is death (to be cast into hell). There are Ten commandments have you ever in your life broken one? If so and you appear before God with those sins on your head instead of being washed clean by Christ then He will judge you as such.

I understand your position here. I believe I am in the same boat. You are in doubt because you have no relationship with God. In your heart, you truly believe there IS a god, but you're still not sure who is God. A wise teacher once told me, that in order to have a close relationship with God, you must not only know ABOUT him, but you must also KNOW him. How do you know him? Pray, Meditate on His Word, Praise, and Glorify him in everything that you do. That is why we were put on this earth. Our ultimate goal is to glorify God and to be holy, which empowers us through the holy spirit. I know you may be really confused right now, so am I. But face it, look at His beautiful creation, just by looking outside your front window. This couldn't possibly been an accident. This was all planned and God has a plan for you. I know that in the end, at least for me, I will always go to God in my time in need, I cannot hide from God. Now, we may not always know what God knows and why should we have to? We are only mere humans, his greatest creation. I just want you to know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. And also remember, that God really does love you.

I think if you truly don't believe in God, you wouldn't be worried about it. I'm wondering if you're just not struggling with aspects of faith and not just the existence of or not. If you were truly an atheist, I do not think that this question would be bothering you at all. I believe, but right now things are really bad in my life and I'm having a hard time figuring out where he is right now and why all of this is happening despite the fact that I'm not a "bad" person.

You don't believe in God, yet you just said you are a Christian?
I thought a Christian is one that believes in God, and in Jesus, as the son of God.
We are all bad to the core, no matter how many goodie two shoe things we have done, there is no one good but God.
..
God doesn't go around punishing ppl for the fun of it.
He says "wide is the road to destruction and narrow is the road to heaven, few it is that find it'
In another place in the Bible it says...." Lord, I've done this that and the other in your name! even casts out demons! but he says..." I never knew you"
Obviously here we have it...you must get to know him.
To know him is to do good, not to get brownie points, but just because we love Him.

Well,
the thing with Christianity and the Bible,
is that you are saved by your faith,
if you do not believe in God as
your savior then you will
not go to heaven and I guess, in a
sense you will experience the effects
of this in your after life. This doesn't
mean that you are a bad person.
There are wonderful people that
do not believe in God, however,
it is not good works that saves an
individual. The only way to heaven
is though God and the genuine belief
in him. Good works and being a moral
person follow in line with your belief.
Because you believe in God and follow
the Bible's teachings on morality, good
works do also accompany the life of
a genuine Christian.

How can you be a Christian and NOT believe in God? You are contradicting yourself.

Being a good person does not "save" you. If you have faith in Jesus's saving grace, THAT is what saves you. The things to do subsequently are the "good things" that we do because we are moved by our gratitude for God's salvation.

God is not going to punish you if you have accepted His grace. He can't "save" you AND send you to hell at the same time! Hold onto your faith. If you need help growing in your faith, you can contact the Billy Graham organization for materials to help you learn more, and ease your mind.

Have a blessed day.
