I am catholic and I really want to believe in Jesus and Heaven and I truly do but sometimes when I think about it, it just seems so unrealistic. Its a beautiful thing to believe in but sometimes I have my doubts. Does everyone really believe there is a life out there that we go to when we die?

I am agnostic because, although I was exposed to Protestantism as a child and adolescent, I could not "believe" and developed real doubts and questions in regard to religion. It really doesn't matter to me what everyone else believes since belief is based upon faith without proof. That the great majority of humanity believe in a deity does not make it true that God exists. Personally, I think that questioning dogma is intelligent, but only you can decide what or if you believe. Taking a poll is meaningless.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

I do,. I don't know what it will be like but we have a shorter time then we realize till we find out. yeah, sure it sounds unrealistic, but think about it when the world was created the angels probably couldn't have even imagined the place that the world we be in know. don't you see, this is real...no matter how crazy it sounds. I have faith that it is all true but not with out fear.

Absolutely I believe, as do more than 10 million other Catholics. It is hard to believe, especially when we live in such a secular world than tells us not to believe anything you can`t see. If there is no other life, no heaven then there is no point to our lives. Our lives have purpose because of heaven...which is to return to our creator...kinda sounds weird, but that is what faith is...just believing...if you want proof...look at the miracles...saints whose bodies have never decayed...and there are many...look at history books that actually record Jesus`s birth and death...actual history books and records...Jesus Himself said...if you find it hard to believe in Me, believe in my works...even Mother Theresa found it hard at times...that is why spending time in church with the Blessed Sacrament can move your soul because it is so close to God and it wants to go back to Him...a life worth living...unfortunately not everyone believes, so they need prayers as they have been deceived.

NO! What happens when an animal (or a human) dies is one of the least mysterious things in the year 2007. It was a mystery a couple of thousand years ago. But now we know what happens in great detail.
It is not like the origins of the universe; that is debatable.

I don't believe this earth is useless. I really believe earth and human is more than live, die and nothing after that. Heaven is real to me.

Either the yes or no answer is dependent upon their particular faith since neither side can truly know for sure in this realm.

Jesus is real and hell + heaven are real places. Pray, and get to know God in personal level. Study the Bible

Paul said "if I have hope only of this life I would of all men be the most miserable." He is saying this can't be all there is and his faith in Christ gave him a hope (belief) in the next life. As the only one who died and came back all we have is Christs word, and to many of us that is enough.

We'll find out soon enough. Why not be nice to each other in the meantime?
