Restart your computer in safe mode( f you don't know how click this link http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml)
then when windows start scan your computer and heal all the infected files, also try an antispyware. This are the softwares that i recommend because i have being using them for over 2 years then when i change to vista they still works great.
1-. AVG free edition (antivirus only), get it free at http://www.grisoft.com/doc/download-free...
2-. Ad.Aware 2007 (antispyware)
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/30...
3-. Spybot search and destroy (antispyware)
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-De...
4-. ccleaner (increase computer performance deleting unused entries and registries.

5.- Zone alarm (firewall) Equip your system to deal with Web-based security threats including hackers, viruses, and worms.

What i recommend is to use the spybot S D only once per week. Then use AVG and Ad-aware as default for daily use. Use ccleaner two times per week to keep your PC running smoothly.

I first suggesting trying the System Restore point. What that does is takes your computer back to a certain time/date. You may loose files that have not been on that System Restore Point. Also, buy a Anti-Virus software. BUY IT, not get a serial of the internet. Those are all fakes.

All good advice,.......this is what I do. Use AVG to find and/or get rid of your virus problem. Pesky virus that doesn't want to delete? Open up Spybot Search & Destroy (advanced mode) and go to the file shredder section. If AVG knows where it is, then use Spybot to shred it once you find it. I use 9 shreds. Reboot. Go back to where the offending file was,.....it should be gone, maybe a trace element- shred it & you're done. (hopefully)

well, i have microsoft xp, and if you have that you go to control panel, switch to category view on the top left hand corner, click performance and maintenance at the bottom, and on the top left it says system restore, and from there click on an available date that was set BEFORE the virus was discovered. there you go, you're all set. it works too

Whilst MOST of the above are EXCELLENT answers, I'd just install an operating system that doesn't require all of that stuff myself. I'd surf to http://www.distrowatch.com and find an operating system there that worked with my hardware and I'd NEVER have to worry with Microsoft virii again!

AVG Anti-Virus. It's free, and it does it's job just as well as any of the pricey ones.
