I just got back from the doggy park and this male dog kept humping my male dog. This went on for about 1 hr, off and on. There were other dogs in the park (at least 25), but that same humper dog kept going to my dog. Just wondering why this kept happening. My dog was getting a bit annoyed and fighting back, but....he dealth with the annoying horny dog. I thought it was funny!

Somehow the Humper felt some form of aggression or dominance over your humped dog. It has nothing to do with Horny!!! It is all about male aggression, so take care for your dog if you walk in that PARK AGAIN bring mace! really! that dominant dog could rip you dog to shreds if it chose to do so!!!!!!!!!

Meh... some dogs do that. For most, it's a dominance thing... it's how they express they're the alpha. For others... probably just gay. Either way, it's probably best for people to not let their dogs do so, as it can upset other dogs and become aggressive (and if the humper otherwise isn't, then they can get into lots of trouble)... so the owner of the humper should have stepped in and stopped it.

Unless there is a female in heat, male dogs hump to show dominance. People always assume that when a dog is humping it always has something to do with sex. When in fact that is not the case at all. Even female dogs are known to hump for dominance.

As others have said, it's a display of dominance.

That is one reason I don't let one of mine interact with other dogs. He wants to be the boss of every dog he meets. Yours may of put up with it for a while, but a lot of dogs won't and I'm afraid a fight will ensue.

Not horny, just trying to establish dominance over your dog. I'd be annoyed too

When a nuetered male dog humps another male, this ushually means he's telling the dog"I'm in charge"

Humping in dogs is rarely a sexual display unless one of hem is in heat. It is primarily a show of dominance. the other dog was trying to be "boss".
