Is it true that you automatically go to hell once you commit suicide? Is there a way to bypass it by begging for forgiveness beforehand? Is God truely that forgiving, or will he pass judgement without thinking that some humans aren't exactly what we should deem "weak", but have finally reached their limit, grown tired, and are wanting to simply... "leave"?

I am actually getting counceling, but this question is from pure curiosity at the moment. My 'urges' have settled quite a bit, thank the Lord. 8D

As a spiritualist, I do not believe in an actual place called hell. Suicide is wrong because there are no shortcuts in this life. We must learn the lessons that we need to learn. It's also a slap in Gods face. Life is a gift from God and should be appreciated not terminated.

God knows that we get weak and tired. often time it is we that think we have faced our limit. God does the checking out,and he does not need any help from us. God gives us strength when we are weak. Suicide is seeing no way out of our circumstances,so we are saying God is a God of impossibilities. The problem is the one that commits suicide is the unforgiving one. Can you forgive a God that let you go through such a ordeal for the kingdoms sake. When you can not see where you are headed and you want to get out of the game prematurely? There are times we think it is all about me. (You!) But it is always about God.He lets us go through things just to show us he is the only one that can bring us out.
Suicide is murder and you kill your self when you take your own life. You will beg for forgiveness out of fear. Yet you did not believe the word of God nor his servants that told you about him. We go through uncomfortable things in our lives for a testimony and a purpose. What does not kill us will make us strong. God's word will be enhanced in our lives and we are not easily shaken by the events around us. Satan is ever before God accusing us of sins, yes we are guilty.Yet God is the one that vindicates us. He reaches back in our past and says she or he may have done what you said but she or he is not what you say she or he is. God cleans us up and changes us into a new person. He throws away the old garment of sin,and give us a new garment. What we were called by the world no longer exist. We are kingdom citizens. Satan is a abortionist. Just like a new born babe,if we give up on the word of God; he will abort us. So can you do anything for anyone dead. God says pray ,trust ,and believe. God is a God of possiblities. We can do nothing without God. God can orchestrate a changed life for a drug addict or prostitute. He can orchestrate a changed life for a lier or a thief. There is no age limit or condition that can change the mind of God to change what he wants changed. God has a plan for all of us if we call on him and live with him daily. Jesus did not go through this for nothing. He paid a price that we do not have too. Some say what he did was suicidal because he knew what would happen. He did it anyway. But he did it to save us. So we live to save others. THE HOLY SPIRIT gives us the answer to life and death. So we chose life that we and our seed shall live.

According to Holy Mother Rome, suicides all go to hell. They have commited the sin of Despair and you can't take that back, even if as you fall off the side of the mountain you change your mind.

That being said, I think God knows how hard it is to be human. I think God is love and sees that sometimes we feel so far away from Him, we don't know what to do. I think he sees that sometimes suffering is more then we can bare, physical pain goes to far or we outlive our self percieved usefulness. I don't believe in a God who sends everyone to hell, and let's face it, we are all sinful.

However, to the depressed people out there, I will tell you, there are people who care about you, even if you don't think so. Talk to someone. It might even be a total stranger, but they want you to live. call a suicide hotline or talk to a person on the bus or something. God might forgive you, but the world will be a sadder place without you. This too shall pass, find someone to help you through it. Suicide is the cowards way out.

The bible does not directly address this issue (king James or other) but it is accepted among the Christian community to be an automatic hell pass. I suppose it is because of the understanding that the life given to you is not yours to take, but God's alone. Some consider it murder so in that sense you have broken a commandment, but I don't think God would forgive after intentionally committing a sin.

The best that I can find right now is Matthew 13:24 that speaks of sowing good seeds.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting help. I will keep you in my prayers.

Ok well I have certain beliefs. LIke I don't believe in hell, but I do think there is a heaven and a god. And I believe that everybody is going home(heaven) no matter what stupid, right , or wrong thing they did on this earth. So I don't think that people that commit suicide are going to hell. I see it as if god is such a great being or whatever he is, he is not going to judge people by what they did in their life, and if they were perfect they are going to heaven or if they screwed up they are going to hell. But all of this is just what I believe. Everybody has their own beliefs. So what do you think about it?

I think what is defined at "true" is what you believe. I do not believe that you automatically go to hell for committing suicide. We were put here to be tested, and if you believe the bible to be true, then you believe that we will not be given any test that we can't handle. So by "reaching your limit, growing tired, and simpling wanting to leave", that would be giving up on yourself. No matter what you are going through, you can make it. You weren't sent here to fail. God only gives you what he KNOWS (not thinks) you can handle. Just believe in yourself the way God does, and you'll make it through any trial that comes your way.

ONLY God's mercy can cover the person up who commit suicides........Maybe they are NOT willing to do that, so they may be detained in a place in the afterlife,to purify themselves (not Hell, because once there, you cannot get out)........to be a person who qualifies hell....he/she:

1) have ENOUGH reflection on what he/she is doing
2) WILLING to do it
3) above all, he/she must know it's a terrible sin to take away own's life

However,if the person rejects Christ/God, then knows very well what they're doing, then possibly they're in Hell.......

Yes.......God is not that cruel.........He knows the secrets of our hearts........and will not harshly deal with us if we are truly ignorent.............those who are deemed "weak", should just talk to God like a friend, cry for help and practice P.U.S.H = Pray Until Something Happens, if they're in dire situations.
hope that helps

As I understand it, that is a Roman Catholic idea. I would remind any that trusting God through Jesus Christ is how to get saved. Jesus said to believe in him and you will not be condemned. So according to the Bible, a suicide is NOT a direct path to Hell. I can;t say that it is a good way to go, but perhaps I have not felt that kind of physical pain ( even though I was suicidal at one time) . But it remains to be between THAT person and God, the same as it is for any of us.

My opinion is that suicide is a final act of rebellion towards Gods authority over us. Asking forgiveness ahead of time, for something you have already determined to do will not impress God. Perhaps God wants you to stop ruling over yourself and start allowing Him to take the leadership role.
Whether God forgives you or not, is up to Him. From a human perspective....What about your family and friends, what about the pain they will have to endure because of your decision? Jesus taught us to "cast" our problems onto Him, let Him carry the load for us. He is willing to do this for you, if you will decide to let him carry the weight for awhile. God Bless You....Peace.

you do not go to heaven for what you do, and you do not go to hell for what you do

you go to heaven for accepting what Jesus did for you and you go to hell for rejecting what Jesus did.

I do not know what your state of mind is. I know that suicide is a heavy thing, it is spiritual in nature and if it is feeding on you, it will for a while until you are free spiritually from this.

email me if you will.

If you are in Christ, your sins are forgiven. But just because you go through the motions of accepting Jesus does not mean you honestly did that in your heart. You will have to honestly accept Jesus into your heart.

Something you may not know, Jesus referred to people as sheep. Sheep are the stupidest animals on the face of the earth. They are weak, stupid, do dumb things and have to be protected as they can't find their way to good grass unless someone takes them.

In Christ, you have a life that is actually an adventure if you will just not sit back and waste time.
