I am just curious: How many of you have been to, or know of, Christian spiritual direction. And if you were curious, would you go to a spiritual director to get help discerning God's call in your life?

ME!
I've been in spiritual direction for 25+ years.

Usually it has been a priest of my own church, but I have also had a Greek Orthodox monk, and two Roman Catholic Spiritual Directors. It does not have to be a cleric but often this vocation comes to friars, monks, and nuns. All clergy should not expect to be called to this special ministry.

We talk about my prayers and meditations, how my daily keeping of my Rule of Life is working or not working, besetting sins, decisions facing me, and what about God keeps coming up in my life.
"Discerning God's call to me" is not a one-time thing, but an ongoing part of my relationship to Him and my corner of the World.

Sometimes my Spiritual Director is my confessor, rarely is it someone I see frequently or with whom I work.
First, we have 3 or 4 meetings to see if we are comfortable and 'on the same page' about what we are doing in Spiritual Direction , then we meet about once a month.

I have heard that some spiritual directors ask to get paid. I don't believe in that.
Spiritual Directors usually have some formal training in the art, and SHOULD THEMSELVES BE UNDER SPIRITUAL DIRECTION.
I am currently spiritual director to one person.

Jesus Christ is the Author and Finisher of faith. He's my 'Spiritual Director'. I might be a Protestant, but that is only so that people will understand that I am NOT a Catholic. I would rather have the name 'Reformed' attached to my denomination if I had to have one, as in 'reformed into the beliefs of the church in Jesus and Paul's time'. Before Catholicism.

Every Catholic interested in growing intheir spiritul life should have a spiritual director.

Mine is a priest friend. His SD is a nun assigned to him when he was in seminary.

An SD helps keep you moving forward in your spiritual growth, helps you through dry times and yes- does help you discern God's movement in your life.

Ask your priest for a recommendation- being an SD requires training and certification.
