Broadcast TV makes a lot of money from advertising. Cable/Satelite channels have little or no advertising and companies have big budgets to reach people on TV.

The agencies and TV stations are already figuring out new ways to make advertising more interesting or in-your-face to appeal to the TIVO/DVR people that skip through commercials, but broadcast TV is really the only show in town for advertising and the agencies want to spend the money.

Home Broadcast TV is here to stay. As a matter of fact people are going back to antennas to get a better HD signal form broadcast TV, because Cable and Satelite needs to condense the signal to get it to your TV and some of the definition is lost.

As they are now, yes. I guess it's a new digital signal that will be sent over the airwaves, newer tv's can receive them, but there are adapters you can purchase so older tvs pick up the channels. In the US I believe it's supposed to be 2009 and the government set aside some big billions of dollars to help people pay to upgrade their TVs. In Canada its happening 2011 and the people are screwed.. Buy your own stuff! -- Now that's all just from what I remember from a newspaper article.

No. They will be going digital-only eventually (right now, most stations are broadcasting both digital and analog), so you will need a different kind of reciever, but as long as advertisers continue to buy air time, there will be broadcast TV.

Yes, by 2009. You must have cable, a HDTV or a converter box to get free channels.

The info are your previous television isn't probably waiting to make certain HD because it does not have adequate decision. you opt for for a minimum of 720dpi to make certain HD and previous television's have basically approximately 500 or so. So temporarily NO NO NO! Oh with the aid of ways television guy has no theory what he's asserting.

Probably on a TV that doesn't have a digital converter. I hope that what you're predicting won't b the case, since my household does not have cable or satellite programming, despite 4 TV sets.
