God should be both loved and feared; worshiped and revered.
He should not be trifled with; and He will not be mocked.

Fear would never be able to motivate me to desire something so strongly in my life such as the love of God. But, I do have a healthy fear of God as any believer should.

when I was a child, I was told that I must fear God, so I refused to believe
when I was an adult, I decided to reject the imperfect God that I had been taught to fear, and now I love the God that I know

Have you done a study on the word "fear" God.
English language are very limiting.
Could the word "fear" in the original sense means, "WorshiP?"
Ponder on this!

I love God, he doesn't need to be feared. He's there for all of us, and he will never condemn us, He'll always be there for us.

It depends on what god represents. If its a just, good, loving god, then I love him/her/it. If it the jealous, punishing, angry, evil god that every religion on earth preaches about, then its nonsense.
