This may sound like a dumb question, but I need to get some blood taken and I am supposed to fast before I get it done. My question is...if I am on medicine, can I still take it even though I am suposed to fast before getting the blood taken?
Also, I would be taking the medicine the night before I would get my blood taken.

The test is to check cholesterol, blood sugar, and thryoid...just a basic blood test.
The medicine only requires water to take it with and the doctor didn't say anything about the medicine.

Both the fasting blood sugar and cholesterol tests requires fasting for at least 9 to 12 hours before the test. Taking the medicines you are on in the evening may be or not be allowed depending on what medication you are taking .Since you are also doing the thyroid test, you should NOT take any THYROID MEDICATION on the night before the test (just in case you are on it).You may also drink little water but other beverages such as coffee, tea, or soda should be avoided.
Medications that can affect cholesterol levels and should be avoided are listed in this link:

You can take your medicines with the smallest sip of water you can easily swallow with. Don't use coffee, soda, or juice, only water. You should fast for 8-10 hours or so to get good results when checking your cholesterol and blood sugar. This is usually easiest for people to do by not eating after dinner and getting their blood drawn first thing in the morning.
you could take it the night before, but it's probably better to take your medicines at the same time you normally do. If you're really worried about it, just take take your medicines after you get your blood drawn in the morning.

Yes, you can take your medicine. If you need to be fasting, you must be having your cholesterol or blood sugar tested.
You can take your medicines and have normal amounts of water to drink, even up until right before you have your blood drawn.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Depending on what the test is for Alexi's mother is right.
Most med's no problem so unless you are on something unusual......Also is the test for blood levels of the medication ? However if the doctor had wanted that kind of specific he'd have answered it. A few sips of water to get the med down won't hurt.

Fasting blood means fasting blood. Not blood after normal medicines. Moreover if a particular blood test is ordered some drugs are prohibited even te night before . Please ask your doctor.

that depends on the type of fasting and the directions on the meds. if it is ok that you so not eat before taking them and the fasting does not include water then you should be ok. you have to have your meds and. and the night before should be ok just no soda and no food there is a reason why they do not want to eat before this test so just be careful and ask a dr if you have futher questions.
