"Damn you."

Or "Stop spreading disease".

I think that phrase is just one of many that people say without thinking too much about. I don't say anything when someone sneezes and I don't get mad if some one says "bless you."

There are many phrases that people use without necessarily implying that they endorse the belief or philosophy behind them. Even I, an atheist, have been known to use "If I God had intended for us...." to express disapproval of something. That doesn't mean I believe in God.

I say bless you, or Gezundheit. And if I sneeze and someone says bless you. I say thank you. Its the thought that counts.

Well...I usually say:

Gazuntit (German for "Health be on you" or something as such)

Bless you (non-theistic way of saying "God bless you!")

Cover your mouth, for obvious reasons.

When I sneeze, I usually do not get mad when/if someone says "bless you" since I say it myself...if someone says, "God bless you" same thing...I really don't get mad, it was drilled into our head at an early age...why should I care?

If anything I say gesundheit. I am not offended if someone says bless you.

It does upset me when someone doesn't wait for the second sneeze and ends up saying it twice. That is so inefficient.

I just say bless you. It's not a time to make some religious statement, it's just a sneeze.

Yes, I say 'bless you' despite being aware of the ludicrous origins of the tradition. I'm an a-theist, not an a-traditionalist.

If someone says 'bless you' to me when I sneeze, I just calmly say thanks and move on. Most of them aren't truly wishing for their deity to bless me, they too simply are following a cultural tradition without real thought.

I don't usually say anything. And when someone says 'bless you' it's more for themselves than for someone else so it doesn't bother me.

Do keep that you're never going to get what you want out of this question. Any answers you get to this applies only to that individual since atheists share only a single commonality which is being without theism.

Yo I believe in my man Jesus Christ! Lol, I've pretty much always said "bless you". Doesn't pretty much anyone? And it feels weird making it a big long thing like "god bless you" and plus you might get decked in the face by an atheist if you say that. Okay, not likely. But sometimes crazy sh1t happens lol.

Im not an atheist so dont shoot me for answering this. YEAH I get annoyed when someone says bless you when I sneeze.
It's incredibly annoying and God doesn't go round blessing people just because they sneeze.
Do people who know that you're an atheist ... offer you a banana or peanuts everytime you say your hungry?
