The walls were there are windows paint the darkest blue he likes then the other walls the lightest blue. Blue is a calming color and green accents is a healing color. black bedspread to relax the eyes. every room should have one black item so the eyes can relax. Do shelves on another wall and put all of his favorite cars there that are collectibles. It will make him feel good that you car about his collection. Red is violent color . try to avoid that color for a kids room.

My son's room is a hunter green. Not sure if that would coordinate with the cars theme though.
Maybe try a combination of red and blue.

Suggestions:
1] blue
2] green
3] yellow
4] paint top half sky blue;
bottom half grass green;
and separate with a 'road' of charcoal gray with white or yellow stripes [ this will actually look better if it is winding, rather than straight ].
Add appropriate 'traffic signs' like 'stop' for desk; 'yield' for dresser, 'quiet zone' for bed, 'do not enter' for closet, etc.

I'd use the lightest blue that you can find. It will give the room a spacious appearance even when you add some splashes of color to it.

I think a shade of blue would look wonderful.
You could check out the paint section of Wal*Mart, they can mix colors if you find one you really like.=]
Maybe half red & half black & white checkered?
I don't know, just some suggestions. lol

I agree with a very light shade of blue.... any color would match.
Note: pastels have a calming effect...
