Hum, even though it is still only a 3 year age difference, it is big for that age. I mean, if you were 25 and he was 28, for sure, but this doesn't smell good.
Even though I am the biggest advocate of do what you feel like, if your friends are against it, it usually means, no go on the boy, or some issues with your friends, which one would you rather have?

well first of all you should consider the fact that hes 16 and in 9th grade. but with that aside, if you return his feelings, then it shouldnt matter what your friends think- they should respect your feelings. but on the other hand, they may not like him because 1. hes 3 years older; 2. is he all gangster/punk/emo like? and 3. maybe from their perspective, the way he is around you just makes them worry.

my advice is that you should ask your friends why they dont like him, and if you dont think that they are reasonable reasons, then give him the thumbs up!

good luck

To help you out a bit don't let your friends get involved if i did i would be with the most perfect guy I'm with today my friends hate him but i love him you are the only one that could choose just never let your friends tell you anything and age is just a number if you like him go for it

If he isn't to weird and creepy, then you should give him a try. Age doesn't really matter. As for the friends not liking him, don't listen. You need to prove it to yourself to see if he is a good person. Like I said before, give him a chance, but if it doesn't turn out the way you want, then just tell him that you don't want to see him anymore. *REMEMBER* Just because you go out with someone on a date, it doesn't mean that you are bf/gf! So you wouldn't even really need to break up with him! (if you end up not liking him of course! lol)

No. for 2 reasons
He is 16
He is 16 and just a freshman
I could be wrong but based on the information you have given I have to make that judgement

if u really like him, u should give him a chance and ignore ur friends, its totally ur choice, u pick the guy u wanna be with,
but do be cautious he could be a jerk or not so great, or might try to take advantage of u but i say go for it girl =] &see where this goes. goodluck<3

okay, take this from current experience. my friend is dating a guy older than her and all of her friends HATE him, including me. You might lose a lot of your friends and that guy will probably hurt you too. It's not worth it. I'm sure there are plenty of hott guys that might like you that your friends actually like. don't settle.

Follow you heart - no one can stop you. If you always care about what your friends think, you're not gonna get anywhere in life.

Be strong! Good luck!
