the apostle to the right of Jesus is John, not Mary Magdeline. If you look into other paintings by Da Vinci, he always painted John the Apostle feminine, this is because he is the youngest of the group. Another important mention he is wearing men's clothing. You have to remember this isn't what women wore at the time. Look at some of the drawings and other paintings of john, da vinci took quite a bit of interest in him.
