On the surface it sounds like a good idea -- but I don't like it. I don't chip my pets and I won't chip my kids and it wouldn't have anything to do with whether or not I love my kids to do it.
I don't think it would make any difference to the safety of our kids -- kids would still get abducted and besides, what you're talking about is a tracking device (GPS)--where will the line be drawn and WHO gets to control this information and how will it be policed? (we dont' have GPS petchips-though we have chips that record personal details).
This isn't a question about whether our kids safety is 'worth' having them chipped with a GPS locator - the bigger picture has so many more downsides for the general populace than it does good...in my opinion anyway. I don't like it.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately too - of course it has it's downsides, but in the long run I DO think it would save a lot of abducted children. Typically, if children aren't found in the first 24 hours then the chances of finding them decrease dramatically.
I think for infants and young children it's ideal... for teenagers, it could be useful but invasive, and at 18 it should be removed.

Well baby birds need to be fed every couple hours...I would say if it hasn't already died on you you need to go to the pet store and buy zupreem formula mix it with water and warm it up and feed it with a syringe just a bit. If you don't know how to hand feed you will probly aspirate it and kill it if you don't pay attention to the crop right under its throat filling up with food, they only need a little bit. If the cat did indeed break the skin like someone said before its a matter of time before it dies! Good luck!

I say this all the time!! People microchip their dogs and cats, and put tracking systems on their cars. I would love to have a microchip in my daughter, and the baby on the way, just in case. I don't think it's creepy at all. It could be deactivated upon request once the child turned 18.

Hey, people do it with pets so why not. I have two young children and I can't say that I would be against this. It would help protect them in the case of abduction.

I totally agree with it i wouldnt care how much it cost cuz if it could save my kids life then it would be well worth every penny of it and i say if we can do it to our pets witch are a lil easyer to replace then why not our kids who we can never replace if something happens to them
