Should we eliminate fats from our diets altogether and increase proteins? What are some of the benefits that unsaturated fats and proteins provide when included in a balanced diet

You do need fat to live. For one thing, most of your brain is fat. Fat helps the neurons recieve signals and make you think faster and act smarter. Without fat at all, you would die. Low fat diets are never good because low fat usually equals high sugar. High protein diets can be good if paired with good carbs (fiber rich veggies and such).

Lose weight by modifying your meals

Many people find that eating a couple of small snacks throughout the day helps them to make healthy choices at meals. A fattening breakfastof bacon and eggs or a pastry can be replaced with yogurt, oatmeal, high-fiber,low-sugar cereals; or fresh fruit or fruit smoothies. Look forhealthy, delicious meals online or in your cookbooks, and create amenu for the week. Make sure that your meal plan reduces your totalcalorie intake: you're not going to lose weight if you consume thesame amount of calories by eating different foods. Make a list ofwhat you'll need for these meals, and -- except for a few snacks,of course -- don't stray from your list when you get to the market.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
