I wash my face normally twice a day with a regular soap (Lever to be exact). It leaves my skin really smooth, but I don't use cleansers, toners and stuff like that. Are there any long-term side effects of using soap on your face? Like early wrinkles etc.

Well I remember seeing a programme with an elderly lady and her skin was really good for her age. When the presenters asked her what she used. She said she used soap and water - nothing else, for her entire life.

Personally I think it's better to use moisturizer after because soap can dry your skin out. If that's the case though you can buy a PH neutral one like Dove which isn't drying.

But no, I think soap can be better than a lot of products on certain people, especially because a lot of other products contain lots of chemicals which irritate the skin. I say if it works for you stick with it! :)

for at least 15 years, i've used, "just soap" to wash my face,..and rarely any kind of "face" soap. i'm 34 a mother of 2 and a husband,..so when i say, "just soap" i mean whatever is not melt into the bath tub at the end of the day. I am proud to say I have yet to get crows feet or ANY wrinkles. ALTHOUGH, i DO use moisturizing lotion, almost daily, what kind hasn't ever made a big deal to me.

Usually hand soups will dry out the face if its used on the face. Lever... I think thats what we have, yeah I dont use it cuz it will dry out my face. It would be a better idea to just use a normal face wash and dont worry about the toners and all that, I dont use that and washing the face doesnt have to be complicating so dont make it. If you wanna continue to use hand soup to wash your face maybe you should look into a moisturizer so you dont dry out your skin.

no just make sure you use a good moisturizer and keep a light oil on your eyes while you sleep. like a mixture of sesame and macadamia, or sweet almond and grape seed oil.
