The date on the lid says October 23, 2007, but I know that sometimes these dates are just the "best by" dates. This one doesn't specify. Do you think it's safe?

There's no sign of mold or any discoloration... and I don't want to ask my mom 'cause she's already used some of it. lol

It's "sour" cream what could go wrong?! As long as it has been kept refrigerated it still should be OK. As long as it doesn't have any mold or smells/tastes funny you should be fine. I would not use it too much longer though just to be on the safe side.

It should be. Being it's ben refrigerated. Other than mold what can it do IT's already soured when it's bought. Dairy productions aren't like alot of others. one can tell by smell if they have gone bad.

OF COURSE IT IS! only not if its past the expiration date, no. But its just like cheese. Some cheese are made from mold, but are perfectly good for us!

If it's past the expiration date, it's most likely on it's way to spoiling.
I'd just dip my finger in it and have a tiny taste. If it taste normal, have it.. but throw it out after tonight.

if its past the expiration date I'd toss it - but if your mom hasn't been in the bathroom all day its probably okay to eat, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.
