Take her to a park and pack a nice lunch and a blanket and sit and talk...

Don't do the dinner.
I'd do the movie. You get some talking time but not so much as to where you don't have any more topics left.

Only talk during the movie if she asks you something or if she is talking.

Take her to Starbucks or something after the movie and talk then. Plus you could talk about the movie.

Or plan an activity, I don't know, find out what she likes.

Oh! I keep editing this post, but how about a roller coaster place. Like Six Flags... go on rides and stuff. You can talk, have something to do, and you'll be guaranteed success.

Movies work for some people, but like you said, it's hard to talk (which for some people is a good thing.) It sounds to me like you want to actually have a conversation during the dat, so try a place where you can easily start a conversation, with as little awkward pauses as possibe. Think about thinks you both like to do. Has she mentioned any one place that she likes to hang out?

If not, some good cheap places to just have fun, no pressure are bowling allys (a lot of people like to bowl) if both people pitch in, mabye a amusment park/ fair or just going for a drink, or lunch, nothing fancy. Picnics at parks are fun too

BE YOURSELF just ask her to watch an old movie that she never saw before. Dont be stamering make her feel comfortable to speak to. If you give her a gift give it to her when she leaves. Make sure this first date is for knowing each other. Other date if you really like her do something sophistated but not to much.

I allways bring my dates to my house or I jsut chill with them somewere around my Oakville. I live near a high school and a pizza place and a plaza. I just chill with them around there.
No need to spend loads of money on a girl your not even sure about. For the second date try and put a little mopre thought in it, butnot to much remember we are only 14 so maybe jsut buy her a slice or something.

Hope this helped you dicide what to do.

Cheers!

U go see a movie at 14 if ur not sure she's your type. Communication is felt with laughter. If she laughs, and has a good time thats the key. Maybe after the movie..ice cream. Its all the simple things for a girl

My daughter likes to go to the driving range and hit golf balls for fun on a first date. Might sound a little weird, but it's fairly cheap, you can talk and laugh and it doesn't matter if you're not very good. Every once in a while you might hit a long ball and celebrate. Just an idea.

A dinner is phoney a movie is the worst because you can't talk...the opposite of what you want.
How about this go to a 31 flavors tell the clerk to give this fine lady anything she wants. Eat your ice cream...do something dumb like get ice cream on your shirt...be so helpless she takes over. Then go on a nice walk together. Call me on my cell if you need help 8157934036

If I were asked out I would love to go to maybe like a theme park ex. Disneyland. That would be fun. I know you said a dinner sounds to sophisticated but if you take her to like Starbucks or a fun kinda resturaunt and a movie or something. I know I would love that.

Try taking her on a picnic and u make the food a pick a good spot..and get to know her. You're right, never a movie on the first date. If u like her maybe after the picnic you can go skating or whatever activity y'all are into. (Not that smile)

Be yourself. Surely you can talk before the movie or afterwards... you said you don't want to take her to dinner... how about a burger place... not some fancy wine and dine... you're only 14 as you said... surely a burger place would be somewhere you could talk and get to know her a bit better.
