Actually I think they should be teaching the local sign language. How about focusing on good skills in the country's official languages first? Otherwise, Arabic seems as good as any. The cultural element of such a subject might help make Muslims more familiar instead of being scary "others." That can only be a good thing.

They should offer it along with any other language in school districts that have enough kids who want to learn it. After all, we need more arabic speakers to hunt terrorists, right?

If there is a demand for it then the school should consider offering it. Should schools force students to learn it? Absolutely not. No reason to even consider that.

Absolutely!! There are so many Arabs now in the USA it's so important to be able to communicate with them, especially with work.
